Thoughts on my starting unit?
Kris Dunn
Klay Thompson
Aaron Gordon
Jabari Parker
Joakim Noah

Other than Parker, I think all my starters are plus defenders. My big question is whether Parker, Gordon and Dunn can shoot the 3.

I'm all aboard the Sell Derrick Rose train!

Just to remind everyone that he's still capable of these kind of games.

I like what you've got so far but share the same concern. I'd consider adding a 3 and D guy and bringing in Parker as instant offense off the bench, as I think Gordon is better off at the 4. Could be a great defensive unit.

Thoughts? Comments? Criticisms?

This is going to be a fantastic defensive team. But it will need to be, not a whole of of offensive creators outside of PG13. Points will be tough to come by I suspect.

On a side note, I was totally bummed you picked Jokic. He was very high on my draft board, advanced stats love him.

As the season progressed, DEN started running their offence through Big Honey in the high post. His shooting ability and amazing passing skillz opened up a new world of offense for the Nuggets.

Don't take my word for it. There are far more reprutable sourses available

Building The Nuggets' Frontcourt Around Nikola Jokic

Quote
Jokic has the passing chops to not only survive, but thrive in this setting, as evidenced by the fact that the rookie big is currently fifth in assist percentage (min. 1,000 minutes, 6-10 or taller) behind the likes of Blake Griffin, the Gasol brothers and a Greek, basketball destroying machine in Milwaukee

Quote
When Jokic signed a four-year deal after a relatively non-descript summer league, it rightfully flew under the radar (though props to the Denver Stiffs DKC's mkogav for noting his potential way back in July December of 2014).

Nikola Jokic’s future is at power forward

Quote
Very few players, frontcourt or backcourt, have the shooting, vision and basketball IQ that Jokic brings to the table. Having another non-shooter in Faried next to Emmanuel Mudiay does nothing but clog the lane. Bringing in Jokic instead provides a high post playmaker and an extra shooter. This should un-clog the lane that has been difficult for Mudiay to navigate thus far, as well as take a bit of pressure off of the young point guard.

Quote
Jokic already is shooting 33 percent from the three-point line and has a solid midrange floater from the center of the court. He also has shown the Dirk-one-foot-step-back shot from the baseline to complement his diverse post game.

Agreed on you sentiments. Might I add that we don't know how efficient can Kris Dunn be in his rookie year, so it's a very tricky thing to judge at this point.

Really like the defense, but my concern is shot creation. The Indiana offense really stalled last year because George was the only one who could consistently create. Jokic will help, since you can run the offense through him, but I would like to see you add another play maker. Either a guy who can create his own shot or a guy who can create for others (my preference)

Reminds me of the pre-Shaq Miami team with D-Wade, Odom, Butler as the young guns and Eddie Jones and Brian Grant as the veteran cogs.

Great young foundation that can compete now, but just a little too young to contend.

Yep - that group is begging for a dynamic 6th man in the backcourt.

Yeah, agreed on Dunn. I would have liked a pg with more experience but I think Dunn is the best available. Plus, he's so big that if I bring in another pg he can give me minutes at the 2.

Even though we do our judging after everyone is selected, it will be hard to really get an accurate read on my team until the season starts. I think Jabari and Gordon are due for break out years and will be the best player on both their respective teams.

Rumor has it that the CB Utah Jazz have put C Jonas Valanciunas on the trading block. According to a reliable source, the Jazz are "not really wanting to part ways with the big Lithuanian, but would be willing to trade him if any proposed moves would make sense, and/or right price." Interesting development that will be followed up ASAP.

I loved that team. I'm going to try to add some more vets in the next few rounds. In general I don't think this team will get voted highly when we finish drafting, but I do think it will be a team that gets a lot of credit once the season plays out.

Love that team. Every guy except Lillard is a plus defender who can shoot. I'd add the best mobile shot blocker available and your lineup is ready to go.

Love Kris Dunn. Hugely talented player.
