For as well as the NBA and the UFC have managed the COVID situation, the NFL seems to be equally as bad at it.

Real curious to see how much the NFL hammers the Titans on this.

I'm zero surprised that the NFL has mismanaged this whole thing, though.

Yeah, not even remotely surprised. When it was first looking like there'd be no bubble, a full length season and some fans at some games I felt like trouble was on the way. Simply too many people involved in football (100+ players per game collectively, dozens of staff)

The nfl hasn’t been great but it’s a lot harder to manage 63 men rosters, practice squad players and huge coaching staffs compared to UFC or NBA.

Oh yeah, I get that. I think it was pretty doomed from the outset.

Another schedule change. Patriots-Broncos moved from Sunday 4:25 PM EST to Monday Night.

So 2nd straight week the Pats are playing Monday night. While it's not 100% confirmed yet I think most rumors say it'll be the "early" MNF game so I'm guessing same time? 7 PM EST?

This season is a slow moving disaster.

This season is a slow moving disaster.

What I find the most shocking isn't even just that the NFL didn't decide to try some bubble system. It's that they built no flexibility or open space into the season schedule. It's a rigid schedule.

At least the MLB did and so even with some positive cases and outbreaks earlier, they managed to work it out and are on their way to crowning a World Series champ. The NFL though is already having to force teams to change their schedules drastically and shift around bye weeks. And I doubt it'll be over any time soon honestly. We'll see more positives and possibly from other teams.

I think the NFL needs to extend the season a bit and maybe add 1-2 weeks to make up games, as well as move the playoffs and SB back a few weeks. I don't think doing that even changes much anyways and it's the right thing to do. Otherwise, this won't finish like the NBA, NHL and MLB.

It seems like the NFL's plan is to just make teams keep pushing on even as rosters break down and games get postponed or even skipped.

To me it seems guaranteed that this NFL season will have a huge asterisk more so than other sports operating during COVID, but the NFL doesn't seem to care because it's all about money.  Also, football fans (and owners) are perhaps less open to arguments about public health or player safety than their counterparts in other sports.

Heard a report that the NFL could lose between $2-3 billion if they shut down the season soon. So yeah, of course they're going to keep going as long as they can, and even if it means screwing over some teams along the way

So far, those Patriots players who've decided to opt out this season made an excellent choice. There's been covid among that team and a lot of postponements

It's gonna screw over everyone in one way or another

This season is going to be a complete farce by the end

Another positive test for the Pats. Game postponed to next Sunday.

And it looks like the Pats are technically now in their "bye week" which was originally scheduled for next week.

Lol what a mess.

Titans also had another positive so it's possible their game against BUF on Tuesday night wouldn't happen either.
