Well, about time to jump on the Thunder bandwagon. It was always a small chance of Durant leaving, but I think that's pretty much impossible now after this series. Luckily, Golden State and OKC were my two favorite West teams. Hopefully they can makeup for their 2012 choke in the Finals.

Good lord Westbrook.

Now I'm remembering how Bill Simmons harped all season on how the Thunder weren't good enough for a team with two top five players on it.

Welp, now they look like the freaking 01 Lakers, so....

Curry going out like a punk. What is he 1-10?

Uh, more like going out like a guy who sprained his knee a few weeks ago....

That's the excuse? After Portland in game 4 OT and what I saw in game 2 in the third qtr?

He's going out soft. Plain and simple and his team is following his lead. Can't shoot 20% in this game against this team when you're the MVP.

Durant's defense has been incredible.

Have we ever seen this kind of run in any sport where two teams completely dominate the regular season and then a third team comes along in the playoffs and buzz saws through both on the way to the championship round?

This would be like a 14 win NFL team beating the 85 Bears and 2007 Pats on the way to the Super Bowl.

Mavs in 2011 are the closest approximation.

You're mistaking the ability to get hot for a quarter here and there with the ability to play at an MVP level for four quarters.

GS going back home for game 5 could shift the momentum. This series is far from over even with them down 3-1

It is obviously easy to say this now but the Warriors look like a team that is burnt out. Unlike some of the other teams left their stars really got no rest as they chased the all time wins total. However it isn't just the minutes or games they played. I saw them giving every single thing they had in meaningless games that became the "super bowl" for the other team. Now curry has been hurt twice, bogut is a shell of him self, Draymond green has been banged up and has less energy and they may not make the finals. I think this was a mistake on kerr's part because okc looks way fresher than golden state. Heck even Portland did last series they just didn't have enough talent. He let the players make the decision to go all out every game of an 82 game season and the players are not paid to make those decisions.

Mavs in 2011 are the closest approximation.

The Mavs didn't face an opponent that won even 60 games in that season.

Definitely faced some talented opponents. Kobe, Durant, Westbrook, Wade, Bron.

But I don't think any of those teams was close to the Spurs or Warriors.

Well, that's why I said closest approximation. They didn't face the exact competition that OKC did, but they were similarly considered an also-ran going into the playoffs, being the underdog in every single series, even the first round against sixth-seed Portland.

Eh, the thing is they averaged pretty low minutes per game. They definitely expended a lot of energy at the end of the season though.

OKC's never lost a series they've led 2-1, let alone (possibly) 3-1. Durant's averaged like 30 in closeout games. They're not going to choke away three chances to advance.

I mean, how about this - - has any NBA team ever won two series against teams that won at least ten more games in the regular season? I think the 2010 Celts might be close. The Cavs and Magic won a lot of games that season.
