Matchups to Watch
  vs
Last season, the matchup between Paul Pierce and Quentin Richardson got very chippy.  At one point, QRich called Pierce out to fight him.  This is a matchup to watch as there is bad blood between these two players.

  vs
Zach Randolph is one of the Knicks top scorers and they go inside often.  There is going to be quite a battle inside between these two big centers.

Honorable Mention
Rajon Rondo vs Chris Duhon
Rondo has been struggling somewhat lately and Duhon has been playing well for the Knicks.  The Knicks want to run and it will be up to Rondo to slow Duhon down and  in doing so, slow the Knicks offense down as well.

Game Notes
The Knicks are playing well under their new coach.  In their last game, they had 6 players in double figures including their starting 5.  They will look to run at every opportunity and just like most every team in the league, the Knicks are also stressing defense.  They also have 3 players in the top 20 in 3 point shooting including Jamal Crawford who leads the league in three's made.  They have been hard hit with injuries and are playing short handed.

Team Connections:
Jerome James and Ray Allen were teammates in Seattle
Doc played for the Knicks from 1992-1995
Tom Thibodeau was the Knicks' assistant coach from 1996-2000
Stephon Marbury and Kevin Garnett were teammates in Minnesota
Stephon Marbury and Ray Allen were traded for each other in 1996
Quentin Richardson and Eddie House were teammates with the Clippers
Eddie House played for Mike D'Antoni in Phoenix

paul needs to keep his refrains to "wanna see my ring?" with regards to Q-rich and we'll be fine, even without KG.

also, is scal really going to get this start? i would have thought powe gets it, since scal can play both the 3 and the 4, while powe is pretty much a stright 4. I thought scal would get some seirous minutes, but i thought it would be at backup 3 and 4.

Haha I can't believe Scal is starting either. In fact it's seriously pretty stupid if you think about it. I'll actually give Scalabrine the surprising yet true fact that he's a better defender than both Powe and Big Baby. But comparably, his offense is so much worse you're better off with either Powe or BBD in any situation that isn't the final seconds of a game that must be won with defense.

We'll see though... if Scal starts draining 3's (who knows, maybe he has been in practice) then I'll stand corrected.

I took a guess that Scal was starting because he did last season when KG was out and Doc doesn't like messing with his first guys off the bench.  I just heard on Sports Tonight that Scal is indeed starting.

I hope Scal gets booed all night. I know I will be from my living room.

If I shot 3's as bad as Scals, I'd move in a foot or 2.

4 TOs already for the Champs. Awful casual with ball. Keeping the Knickers in the game.

And 2 3 second calls. Make the decision!

So, the C's have to be running away with SMPG's this year,( Shoving matches per game, for those out there that aren't stat geeks) right?

Great start so far, this is exactly what our offense needed, especially Rondo, Perk, and TA.  Bench is playing great.

Probably a little early for this but Powe's career high is 27, in last year's season finale.  It'd be nice to see him get there tonight.

Man, I wish I could watch this game.  I am following online when possible and I love seeing that our bench is working over the Knicks.  Leon in particular.  Go Leon!

Why haven't Pierce and Rondo checked back in yet?

bench is playing out of its mind, good move by doc IMO.

bench was 10/10 at one point and on a 14-2 run, can't mess with that  :)
