Yeah, when the players finally realize how much money they're giving up they'll come around.

Yep.  The rank and file are going to favor salary over rest.
Can't blame them one bit. It's easy to say "play less" when you're financially set up for life - guys who aren't top 50 players will be wanting to secure as much money in as little time as possible, given the opportunity is quite a fleeting one
