Should Brad be calling?

It would be nice to have a big man off the bench who can make a jump shot. Kornet, Tillman, Queta. None of those guys offer that. It would be good if one of those guys was swapped out for an offensively capable big man.

That said, the coach had no use for Muscala last time round so no reason to think it would be otherwise this time. So I wouldn't bother. He could be a good pickup for someone else.

Yeah, Mike Muscala can be an offensive weapon but his defense is subpar. He would be another shooter off the bench. I'm not sure we sign anyone...

Don't see a point in bringing in a 15th guy when they refuse to play Tillman.

It was weird they stuck with Kornet even in garbage time last night, particularly when they put Springer in there.

Those of us who were excited that the team might re-sign Tillman in the off-season should probably adjust our expectations a bit.  But, maybe he shows out down the stretch when the Celts are strategically resting guys.

Whoever we sign won't get consistent -- or perhaps any -- minutes.  They should still sign someone to get a look at them in practice and to have them around the team, in case we want to bring them back next season.  If they don't, then they should have held on to Lamar Stevens, who was well-liked in the locker room.  It's not my money, but the Celts should be filling every slot they can.

Guess Tillman still learning playbook or is not 100% yet with that knee

Otto Porter is the only guy at this point who really intrigues me. Might be someone who can contribute at least a little in the playoffs along with Tillman. Queta is a nice story but reality is he won't factor in much this postseason. I view Queta like I do Hauser, it'll take him 1-2 more seasons and full offseason(s) until he becomes a useful role player for us but at least the first year it's mostly just gaining experience.

I ultimately think they don't do anything though.

I have to think Tillman's knee is not healthy for him to get zero run even in garbage time.

Patty Mills was waived.  Would he be a credible 3rd / 4th PG option?

I am a massive Patty Mills fan, so I have to say yes.
Man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much—the wheel, New York, wars and so on—whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time.

But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man—for precisely the same reasons.

I didn’t know he was signed anywhere to be waived from.

I still would prefer a very large body for Jokic and Embiid (if he plays).  We don't have anyone that can body Jokic.  And we have to body Jokic to beat the Nuggets.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I like Patty Mills, too, but he's 35 and couldn't crack the rotation in Atlanta. Does he ever play over Pritchard? Is he more or less likely to play in the playoffs than Queta, if Queta is bumped up.

No, and no, but I don't want our 15th man playing a minute in the post-season anyway.

Yeah.  He'd be an emergency backup to Pritchard and a locker room presence.  As for Queta, there's no need to blow a year on cheap team control.

I agree with this but unless we sign someone that has been out of the league quite a while (whiteside, howard, cousins) who is available? I guess Robin Lopez?
