I’m not declaring this has happened. Asking- is it possible they have this scenario occur? 76ers just destroyed the rockets 134-96. Simmons and Embiid game clash in the paint. Now without Simmons hogging the ball or clogging the paint, Embiid gets free rein more looks.

Also, we tend to have Simmons nervous and on lockdown when we played the 76ers. Remember The Playoff game where Simmons scores 1 pt?

Today's game was meaningless other than it may have given some confidence to their bench players.  I do think the Sixers half court offense should be better without Simmons.  However their transition offense and defense will be worse.

In short, no. They've lost their best defender and their best fastbreak weapon. He also gives them the potential for unique lineups that are hard to defend. Now they're a lot more predictable.

Beating Houston was nothing. Harden didn't play 30 minutes, and Caboclo, Clemens and Michael Frazier (who?) all played 17 minutes. Even Luc Mbah a Moute played 14 minutes, which is more minutes than he'd played in the bubble in total. Nothing to see.

Oh, and Russ is hurt.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Embiid is their best defender.  Simmons is their most versatile defender.  Fastbreaks decline in the playoffs and half court offense becomes even more important.  Embiid will be able to stay in the post more in their half court offense since they won't have to workaround Simmons half court offense deficiencies.

I don't see any way in which Embiid is their best defender. He's probably their most important because Horford can't fully handle centre duties anymore, but Simmons has been All-Defensive team calibre this year

I feel that Embiid is their best defender overall, but losing an elite 1-5 defender in Simmons is going to hurt the 76ers more defensively than whatever they gain offensively with improved floor spacing. Offences anchored by traditional pivots are usually just good enough to scrape by against playoff teams on the back of an elite defence, which Philly won't have without Simmons.
