Eight more players and two coaches with the Miami Marlins have tested positive for COVID-19, as an outbreak has spread throughout their clubhouse and brought the total of cases in recent days to at least 14, sources familiar with the situation tell me and
@JesseRogersESPN

At what point does it become irresponsible to continue?

They might wait until it impacts the Lakers with a few cases and suddenly, it will all be stopped. There is no way they keep it out of the bubble with players are visiting strip clubs in a state where Covid is not under control.

When a player or players, Refs, Coaches, God forbid die from this due to their need to get the post season underway, Adam Silver and the owners will be personally responsible.

I think the NBA is taking this very seriously.  They will tolerate a positive test in the bubble, because everyone understands it isn't truly impermeable. What will cause them to shut down is if one player spreads it to multiple other players, because then they will know that all their in-bubble precautions aren't sufficient.  Timing could matter a little bit -- if the bubble bursts during the finals, perhaps you delay that series for two weeks and try one more time, but if it's the first round of the playoffs, there's no way.

The NBA did their best to follow the science on how to restart safely, looking at every detail they could seemingly think of, down to redesigning the whistles used by refs to help prevent spittle from flying.  It's impressive enough that they're days away from starting with no positive tests in their bubble.  Undoubtedly there is risk, but they've been light-years more responsible than baseball and football in setting this up, and it would be surprising if they weren't similarly responsible should the evidence say that they need to shut down.

NBA players crack me up.

Lou Williams left the bubble to attend the funeral of his grandfather. Before heading back to Orlando, he decided to stop by his favorite strip club, purportedly because he loves their chicken wings. There’s probably some truth to this (about his love of their wings), because they are apparently named after him on the strip clubs menu.  “ Louwill Lemon Pepper BBQ wings”.

Now, I love chicken wings as much as any other red blooded American, but was this really necessary?  Williams has made about $75 million in his career. For 500 bucks, he could have had enough chicken wings shipped to Orlando to last him for the rest of the season, without jeopardizing his ability to play.

I have a feeling he was dining on breasts and thighs, not wings  :angel:

Apparently some of them went to that very same strip club in Atlanta that LouWill went to, during their exhibition game with the Braves. Their actions have now put the MLB season in jeopardy.

Feel sorry for whoever has to drive them back...cooped up in a bus with 20 Covid-19 infected people

Maybe they should spray the inside of the bus with disinfectant every 30 mins like Trump suggested...may as well find out if his theory works

The Seattle Seahawks waived rookie cornerback Kemah Siverand earlier this week after he was caught on video trying to sneak a woman into the team's hotel, a source confirmed to ESPN.

The NFL Network first reported the circumstances of Siverand's release, noting that the woman was wearing Seahawks gear in an attempt to disguise herself as a player. ...

Siverand went undrafted out of Oklahoma State and received a $2,000 signing bonus from Seattle. That was tied for the third-smallest bonus among the Seahawks' 17 undrafted free agents.

Some guys fight for their dream.  Others settle for $2k and a training camp groupee.
