I am guessing Boston meets with him Sunday:

League sources confirm Miami/Boston/Utah is indeed the order on visits Hayward has scheduled once free agency starts Saturday at 12:01 AM ET
This does not bode well for Utah's chances. He may well have opted in if he chose to stay, as he might have been eligible for DVP next year.
I don't think the supermax would have been a huge motivator to him. His option year was worth only $16.7 million, so signing for the max this year gets him a $13 million raise. If he resigns in Utah, he'd make $3.6 million less in year 2 of his new deal compared to a supermax, so it'd take several years for him to make up the difference of $13 million extra next season.
I'm telling you @salt, you need to go to the Hayward meeting too.
Explain to him why it's wiser, $$-wise to go to Boston instead of staying in Utah, explain how the team can field a contender with some certain moves, talk how some trades in the future can help the team, etc. etc.
Or just "play around the words" and be convincing if any of this actually isn't true
