Now, here is another, completely different league, which tries to follow cap rules as far ESPN settings allow. We have 6 confirmed participants as of now.
We want the winner to win a small monetary prize, but bcs we don't want to leave anyone out (and there are a couple of minors too), we will set up a small
strictly voluntary contribution like $5 (prolly through paypal).
Here's the link to the league:
http://fantasy.espn.com/basketball/league/settings?leagueId=96305922And here are the rules (brace yourselves):
Players are kept at the price they were drafted for a maximum of two years total. You then have the option of keeping them for 1 more (3rd) year at 15% increase AND be forced to release them after that year, or give them a contract. Contracts start at 15% increase and rise an additional 5% each year.
For example: you draft Jonny Random for $100. You keep him in 2018 , paying him $100. You keep him in 2019 again for 100$. In 2020, you have two options. Keep him for one last season for 115 and release him at its end. OR offer him a contract: 115 in 2020, +5% for each additional year of the contract.

If you DROP a player at any time during his contract it will cost you 50% of his salary the following year. Moreover, that player must pass through 1 waiver session before you are eligible to pick them back up.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
FAAB signings last only for the season they were signed. FAAB salaries are the price of the winning bid (minimum bid is $10).
If you pick someone up through FAAB who was under contract when they were released, their price to keep remains the salary paid by the previous years contract + 10%. The new owner is not obligated to the remaining years of the contract, only the salary, the contract is now void. If you pick someone up through FAAB who was drafted or kept that year, their salary to keep remains the salary paid by the original owner +10%.

Some things (esp. regarding minimum bids and cap) are still subject to revision, but the main idea is to make a proper dynasty league. We will keep track of contracts etc through excel (I have found the perfect masochist for the job
and he's experienced in this sort of thing too).
