This kid is the meaning of the word strong. His weight does not justify how Ungodly his strength truly is.

He did 185 lbs 20 times, that is stronger than many NBA athletes but if you think that is strong, you need to get out more.   Smart did 18 I believe.   I want the guy to succeed but that is simply not the freakish strength that you describe.   Might sound strong to John Doe off the street though.

Luke Harangody did 23....

I assume that is Bench press. Not the only way to measure strength and not very meaningful for an NBA player. Strength to push people out of the block or create room for yourself would be more useful.

look at this specific sequence.  Amazing. He goes from posting up, then passing, then setting a pick in a blink of an eye lol

It is like he is playing chess out there

He will be a beast up in Maine!

He won't set foot in Maine.  Unless he's already been there.

over/under 15 mins per game with the C's this year?

Taking the over. What The Celtics lost with Horford. GWill brings it back in a small package.

Just about

But could be more

His IQ ....CBS wont be able to resist, not playing him

But against Lopez, Embiid, Gasol of the worlds... could be sitting

We will see his ability to boxout and rebound at a respectable level against legit size/height

It will be interesting how CBS mixes and matches

If he plans to have Hayward, Brown, Tatum (or Smart) plus Walker at the end of games

Who is going to play the 5.... will it be Kanter or GWill?

Lots of possibilities and nothing set at the moment. CBS has options. Hopefully regardless it wont be a minus

Built like a Tight End but clearly doesn't have the speed to play football, looks slow?

I watched a few Tennessee games this year.  Williams was their best player on the court for them and was an all-around impressive player.

I know people will cringe at the Jared Sullinger comparison but Sully was a super-skilled player, just out of shape.

If Williams can do what Sully could do, but be more athletic doing it, he will be a steal.

Williams isn’t just strong, he’s NBA strong. During pre-draft workouts with sports science leaders P3, Williams’ strength graded out in the 96th percentile among all NBA players tested (not just rookies, everyone).

Impressive

Yup. And a point made above that bears emphasis, bench press isn’t “strength”, especially for an NBA big. He’s got to be able to push through his legs and transfer that power through his core - to push guys off their spots and hold his own position. You can bench 225 30 times and if your core isn’t strong enough or your mechanics are bad you’ll lose a lot of power when your midsection buckles or you lose leverage. Hand strength matters too, for obvious reasons. Those P3 tests, I am betting, focused on functional NBA strength.

Also, he’s just 20. If he wants to get stronger through the chest he surely can do that. Open question whether it’s worth doing.

i also thought he is simular to Sully when Sully was that weight and in college.    Ol Sully could play ball now when he was correct weight ,  only problem he could eat better than play latter.

If he were 6'8" legit. He would have been the fourth pick in the draft.

If Tremont Waters was 6'3 he would be a first round pick. Physical traits actually matter.

He was pretty divisive on draft boards. Some analysts had him top 10. His length is a legit question, but court vision, strength, touch, and motor are skills too, and those he has.  It’s how someone like Kemba (who, lets be real, is under 6’) is all-NBA.

Im very interested to see what he can do.

This is why I don't get why people are so worried about him playing PF. Look how small Barkley was. Same Height as Jordan, maybe just a bit smaller, and he had a pretty good career. Horford was our center, and he wasn't that much taller than HAyward.

Most of the time height matters, but some times players are just that, and they'll handle their @#@# on the floor.
