I hate penalties. They are a terrible way to end the game.

Bad goal to concede ... at least we won't have penalties.

If somebody had to do it, I'm glad it's Iniesta. He's a class act.

Congratulations to Spain.

I hope the Spaniards across the street do not decide to party too hard tonight. I have work tomorrow  ;) Can't blame 'em if they do, though.

Big blow for Holland. Red card.

Probably stopped a goal though, so it was worthwhile.

Right call, but pretty harsh after the no-call on Puyol. He should have been sent off in the 80th minute or so.

LOL!!

I live on a street with no less than 20 Brazilian families living within 200 meters of my house. When Brazil lost I celebrated because I knew that there would be no all night Brazilian celebration going on after they won the Cup.

Congratulations Spain. One of the best teams of all time with a flawless record in the last two years. Probably not the best team in the tournament, but fantastic and worthy winners.

Do you live in Framingham?  There are mad Brazilians out there. I think now the Americans are at least intrigued about the World Cup and they are descent enough to win games, I think it's time to encorporate the "party" into the watching experience.  What I mean is I want to see Americans closing streets and having parades after US wins.  If not, at least I want to see people taking to the streets with American flags and "U-S-A" chants.  That would bring the World Cup to another level.

Anyway, as a Brazilian, one can only be a little jealous of Spain.  However, as my sister-in-law is Spanish, I am happy for her and her family.  Be proud of this moment... and enjoy that one lonely star.  Brazil will get it back next World Cup.

Also, gotta give tremendous credit to South Africa, its people and the beautiful continent of Africa.  They did a great job.  The crowd was pumped and even with the annoying vuvuzelas, it was still a crazy excited audience.  I didn't see any news of major violence (except in Uganda, but that has nothing to do with them).  It seems that security was great, the fans enjoyed the place, the world audience gained respect for South Africa's modern buildings and architecture.  I guess this had the 3rd largest audience ever.  Also, this was huge for the continent of Africa.  You could see the Africa pride was high amongst the people (something I wish I would've seen amongst our African Americans).

In the end, I think the bar has been set high for Brazil.  They are going to have to come up with game A in 2014.
Baby Jesus!
