Is missing a team flight really a "nothingburger"? Not a rhetorical question, I'm genuinely curious.

I'd like to know why he missed the flight. Seems like he didn't have a valid excuse (such as a health or family emergency), but instead overslept or something like that.

me too!  you have to be on time to be 'available' and availability is pretty much mandatory

I doubt it is any big deal, but unless there are other complications, there is really no excuse for missing a flight.

But absolutely love this and what Ime is doing here. This team needs some discipline that was never instilled during Brad’s tenure, and Ime seems like just the guy to do it. Go coach!

I think there was probably more discipline from Brad behind the scenes than people think.  So I kind of agree with you on that.
But it isn't a bad thing that Ime is being a straight shooter.  Smart has had some minor discipline issues in the past, he is a hothead and as a team leader Ime needs to set an example.  No issue with that at all, even for minor stuff like missing a flight.

Yes, I totally agree.  I loved Brad, but he was too polite.  I like seeing Ime being tough and throwing his weight around.  This team needs it.

In the grand scheme of things here, its almost certainly an isolated event that's not going to lead to anything. 

This is Smart's 8th season with the team.  Its not like there is a trend here.

too early to say this. what if smart does it AGAIN 8 years from now??? then what? i think PBS needs to trade smart now before the cancer spreads. maybe the celtics can get kyrie for him?
