What if Beal made it clear to the Wizards that he’ll be opting out and wants to be traded to Boston to play with St. Louis bud Tatum? Think of Paul George forcing his way out of Indiana, or Kawhi out of San Antonio. What if Brown is not happy and wants out?
If the above happened, would you go for three deals that ultimately amounted to this:
BOS In: Beal, Simmons, Bertrans
BOS Out: Brown, Horford, Langford, BOS 2022 1st, BOS 2024 1st, TPE for Bertrans
PHI In: Brown
PHI Out: Simmons
WAS In: Horford, Langford, BOS 2022 1st, BOS 2024 1st
WAS Out: Beal, Bertrans
The order of operations would be PHI/BOS first, then the TPE for Betrans with WAS as a prerequisite for WAS to give us Beal for Horford/Langford and two picks (better than what Indiana got for PG-13 and San Antonio for Kawhi…).
Our roster with Simmons as our point forward given his playmaking abilities and more natural fit at the 4 (and Tatum’s more natural fit at the 3):
Smart/Schröder/Pritchard
Beal/Richardson
Tatum/Nesmith
Simmons/Bertrans/Juancho/G. Williams/Parker
Timelord/Kanter/Fernando
Good enough to win it all? Maybe move Juancho and/or Richardson and/or Schröder? It would be nice to turn them into younger prospects at the 1 and 5.
