Let’s just get these (hopefully) breakthrough cases out of the way now.

Good grief. A repeat of last year. Hope he’s asymptomatic.

Was it a breakthrough case or are the reports vague? Would be very surprised if Al wasn’t vaccinated.

I don’t think they’ve said (as no one is obligated to).  Would be surprising if he weren’t vaccinated, although I do wonder if a lot of players went with the less effective one dose J&J vaccine rather than the 2-dose mRNA vaccines.  I know that was the case for the Yankees outbreak in May, and I also remember Chris Paul having gone with that option.

On bright side, more playing time for Bruno Fernando.

Well at least with Jaylen it happened early enough he will be back for the opener. With a 10 day quarantine Horford will be out for the opener.

Smart, Jaylen, Tatum, Horford, RWill.

Our entire expected starting lineup has had covid at some point.

Hopefully these cases spur anyone on the team who is unvaccinated to get vaccinated and then everyone takes their business very seriously going forward and we don't have to worry about it during the regular season.

Hopefully.

Is a 10 day quarantine still necessary for vaccinated players?

I thought you were contagious for a shorter period if vaccinated.

I'm sure Al has taken all shots and possible precautions. And still he and others continue to test positive. I'm quickly coming to the conclusion that this Covid thing will never end. The shots themselves may need to be administered 4 times a year. Honestly, our futures may include the use of full glass-faced helmets with personal containers of oxygen by our sides.

Different strains will continue to develop, and more and more shots will need to be administered to a reluctant population... this as inflation continues to spike, along with gas prices, food prices, auto prices, and the stock market slowly collapsing.

I hope the day never comes when basketball will be the least of our concerns.
