According to the grand jury indictment, the defendants allegedly engaged in a widespread scheme from at least 2017 up to around 2020 to defraud the NBA Players' Health and Welfare Benefit Plan by submitting fake reimbursement claims for medical and dental services that were never actually rendered.

In some cases, the players who submitted the alleged false claims weren't even in the United States at the times they allegedly received the treatments. They allegedly filed fake invoices saying they had to pay for the phantom procedures out of pocket.

I just read that 18 players plus Tony Allen's wife got to split 2.5 million bucks.

That's around $130,000 each.

Not that much money.

Terrence Williams was apparently the "ring leader" who recruited others, and he apparently got $230K according to this article:
https://www.cnbc.com/2021/10/07/18-former-nba-players-charged-in-alleged-4-million-health-insurance-fraud.html

I imagine the other players will say something about how they didn't realize they were taking part in fraud, they were just trying to help out a friend (Williams) who was in need... something like that.

Celtics fan for life.

TA is disappointing.  Not surprised at all by Baby and Telfair.  There has already been plenty of evidence that these are not high quality human beings.

Who would have guessed Terrence Williams would have been the Michael Franzese of this racket?

Tony has a pretty rough background himself.

Memphis Grizzles recently announced that they were retiring  Tony Allen's number.

Awkward.

I guess the Pandora Papers went really deep.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

A/k/a Supreme Bey?

Edit:  Supreme Bey sounds like Kyrie with fewer skills.
