Well, Astros faked injury of pitcher who was horrible, they then allowed new pitcher to do full pre game warmup and then we responded by our second grand slam! 8-0. Astros are cheaters while Eovaldi sits on bench for almost an hour- incredible.

Any way we can rest Eovaldi and give somebody else mop up duty?  Is 8-0 safe?

Nothing is ever safe but not a fan of risking  injury after sitting so long.

His FB dropped a few. First at 93 and next 95. I might  have rested him but we dont want to destroy our bullpen either. He could have been starter for game 4 after one inning thrown though.

He just got his first strike out at 100.  Eovoldi is amazing.

Anyone know why Sale got pulled after 2 innings?
Bad control. Good contact by Houston. High pitch count. Bailed out by a great defensive play. It was only a matter of time before he blew up

That’s disappointing. Picked a bad time to go into a funk..  :-\

I don’t think it’s a funk tbh.  I think he just isn’t fully recovered from his injury yet.  We protected him some in the regular season by playing him against trash teams, but now he’s having to face real offensive lineups in the playoffs.

Hopefully we’ll see a return to the old Chris Sale next season.  For now, I just hope he keeps us in games.

Not sure what you mean. Sale started 9 games in the regular season, was 5-1 with a 3.16 ERA and struck out 52 batters in 42 innings pitched. He was also throwing 98mph yesterday. He’s definitely in a funk right now.

My point is that his regular season stats were somewhat deceptive because 7 of those 9 starts were against bad teams (with two against the Rays).  He didn’t pitch against most of the playoff-bound and playoff-hopeful teams on the Red Sox’ schedule during that time, and I don’t think it was entirely coincidence.  My opinion is that the Sox were protecting him while he got his bearings back.

I’m aware that he has his velocity.  Much more interested in his command, which has been inconsistent.  He can still help us in the meantime, but I don’t think he’s truly back yet.

Beastly game from the Sox, they really went to town on Garcia. We got the one we needed to steal!

That was a horrible advertisement for MLB.

So bad.  They really are despicable.

I have to believe the Sox have the highest hits per game average in postseason history.  It’s insane how well they’re hurting.  Even the games they’ve lost they got a bunch of hits.
Yup

I don’t think it will happen, but Sox vs. Braves is a series I’ve been rooting for since a kid.

I hated that faked injury.  They should not let that pitcher play again this series or something.

I am not expecting a pitchers' duel tonight but I hope Eddie hangs in.

And Braves/Sox World Series sounds good to me.

A subway series 68 years too late...

And the Sox would have home field advantage!
