I'm actually stunned ATL picked Penix. Also, I guess McCarthy's stock wasn't that high, he will likely be the 5th QB taken and not in the Top-10 despite all the hype right before the Draft.

Desperation leads to stupidity.  6 QBs in the top 12 is just plain stupid.  This QB class isn't that strong.

McCarthy and Nix are not Top-12 selections. But yeah, that's desperation for you from teams.

I'll admit, I think Penix might be the best overall QB in the Draft, but you can't ignore the two ACL surgeries and injury risk. I'm surprised at the team that took him, but he probably had a case to be a Top-10 pick compared to the others (McCarthy, Nix)
