Melo simply isn't a good basketball anymore. He is a terrible defensive player and a below average offensive player given his lack of efficiency. He is a net negative. He cannot help anyone anymore. Houston is not the problem. Oklahoma is not the problem. Melo is the problem. He got old and he hasn't developed his game enough to handle his physical & athletic decline.

It is time to retire.

there's been a big misconception throughout carmello's career. and that is that he is or was ever a good player.

I get that he's declined now, but it's inaccurate to say he was never a good player. A 12 time all star - the bulk of that in the western conference.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan

He's too old now, and the game has passed him by. He took too long to get out of NY. He chose money over contending for a title, and now that he wants a ring, he is in no shape to help any legit contender.

Agreed that he stayed too long in New York. The Knicks should have traded him during the 2015 offseason after his knee injury.

Yeah, for a period he was a top 3-5 scorer in the league. Didn’t have much help in Denver

The Rockets have denied they are waiving Carmelo Anthony, but two sources close to the situation say Anthony has been informed that his brief time with the team will soon be ending. Anthony has been listed as "out" for Houston's game tonight against Indiana due to illness

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I joked with a Lakers friend of mine that Melo may leave Houston and join Lebron and the Lakers.

He did not like that thought

Nah that would be simply "warm" for what's supposed to be a hot take.

Now "Celtics should trade Hayward + pick for Melo" would be something...  :P
