The Celtics should hire Rick Barry or someone to teach Tacko to shoot free throws underhanded.  Most players are too embarrassed to try, but I bet Tacko would give it a shot.  Rick Barry shot 89% for his career underhanded.  Nothing embarrassing about that.

Chinanu Onuaku can teach him during SL practice this week

Another underhanded FT shooter (part of his career anyway), Wilt, shot 51%.

I would say Theis and Yabu can probably cross over to play PF

Yabu cannot crossover to anything

or pass up a pan cake dinner

I would rather have Tacko than Yabu as Gerschom has shown little progress.  If Yabu is a dud in summer league, I think it is time of move on...

Agreed, although if Yabu flops in SL, I wonder what the recourse is for us. Maybe attach some seconds to dump him?

won't make 15 man roster but doesn't look like a complete stiff

He looks more like an incomplete stiff when he goes to the free throw line.

He played better than Yabu, who ought to be cut, but won't be to have his cap space for a trade that never happens.

Not much there to go on.  I don't think Portland would be a bad thing for him.  He is a beast.  Well worth the the investment and some patience in my opinion.

His lateral movement and body control didn’t look that good, not sure he can survive in the NBA with movement that sub-par

Mark Eaton and Yao Ming were able to survive with limited mobility. With his size he just has to recognize and anticipate plays as they develop so he’s in position instead of having to react and getting there late.
