I think Sixers are wrong to start Fultz over Redick.
It was a very strong starting unit, and it add pressure on Fultz.

While if I was coach, I'd too probably be starting Redick, I don't think it's wrong to start Fultz.  The season is much bigger than the first game of the regular season.  Fultz playing towards his full potential and being able to gel with the starters will do a lot more for Philly down the road (playoffs this season, future seasons) then trying to win what is basically a meaningless regular season game.

There's always going to be pressure in the NBA, this may be the best way to help Fultz learn to deal with it.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

But if he does not perform well and needs to be benched his confidence will be ruined once again.

This is the NBA, if he can't cut it then he can't cut it.

Also again, just like the C's, Philly's not playing for the regular season.  What's going to have the team playing its best by the playoffs? Relying on a 34 year old SG or developing the next James Harden?  I can definitely see the payoff of playing Fultz a ton of minutes so he develops and his ready by the playoffs (this year, and future seasons).  You know, what some people here want Brad/Danny to do with every rookie (start Mickey, start Semi, etc.).

But if we want to get all psychological, I think there's also potential that bringing him off the bench could also ruin his confidence/ego (I'm not good enough to start, the team doesn't trust me, how many #1 picks are coming off the bench in their 2nd year, I'm a laughing stock, etc.), which in turn could cause his yips to return.

Really though, I think both things have potential to help/hurt Fultz.  On the one side, if you show him you believe in him and are starting him then that could help his confidence, on the other side you can argue bringing him along slowly and having him play well against the 2nd unit would help his confidence.

is it just me or anyone else a bit irked that the opening game of the C's season has to be endured with the TNT announcers instead of getting to break in a season with right way with Mike and Tommy?

I'm just hoping that we don't have to hear from Charles Barkley but I'm sure he'll be in the mix.

It's sink or swim now for Fultz. No more hiding behind whatever "injury" he had.

So glad that the season is back! Let's stomp the Sixers and start on right foot, a good win and no injury would be great compared to last year.

Going to the gym first to get my workout in.

I feel like today it's either going to be a great workout where I blow through some of my personal bests thanks to all the excitement I got going into tonight's game.

Or I'm going to have a terrible workout where I can't concentrate and feel rushed because I'm trying to make it home in time to catch everything.
