Guards Need to Fullfill a more Specific Goal in a Game!

Aside from the obvious.."Play the bench before the Titanic's deck chairs begin to slide", the Celtics, particularly the guards(ahemm Rondo..etc) need to relax and push the ball towards the basket...to CREATE some openings for the others to follow....either getting a short pass or getting an offensive rebound, or to hand the ball to the Pistons to put into play...
Throwing the ball around the perimeter only clogs things up, thus the extra defender can continue to roam to double without paying the price.
Hardly any cutting both through the lane and along the baseline...have to yank the defense around and stretch it....

That was the most confusing thing I've ever read in my life. No hard feelings though, I'm sure it makes sense, I'm just exhausted.
