Paul Pierce's representatives have told teams Pierce is seeking a two-year contract in the $9-10 million per year range, per sources.

what team is going to pay him that.  18-20 million for 2 years for Pierce.  Just too much money at this point.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Gonna be tough for Paul Pierce to find a home on a title contender if he is unwilling to accept an MLE type contract.

A little too rich for my blood. He's still able to contribute, but c'mon $9-10 mil a year?

Sounds like pierce is going for 1 more money contract rather than a ring. Maybe he's hoping a team like the cavs, if they miss oit on lebron, will take him.

Nets.  Contract would expire just in time for their Durant chase in 2016.

Looks like PP is going back to BK then. Clips aren't paying that. C's aren't paying that.

Maybe Charlotte will?

Well, i guess a player can want all they want.

I thought he would land at a 9 mil 1 year resign with Brooklyn, or switch teams for a 2-3 year MLE deal.

If Dallas misses on bigger names, maybe that would be a fun fit.

I think he can get that but not on a team where he could fit in and put them close to a ring.  Which is what I hoped would happen.

He could really help some teams I like (mainly, Memphis).

Yeah, I really want him to go to a team that I like. I tolerated the Nets, only because he was on the team.

That's too much. He's an MLE guy right now.
Nets are the only team that can and will pay him that.
He goes for the money, not for a potential ring. But it's his choice at the end of the day.

Be fun to see him on a Memphis (agreed) or an Indiana (not that they have $$$). Indy just to have the vet presence and scoring help.

Yeah I don't see him getting more than MLE. Maybe a slight bump above it.

Very hard enviosining a team giving him that. But there's plenty of cap room around and some teams willing to compete now that the big 2014 NBA Draft has come and gone and all the big free-agents are free-agents in this season. When teams swing and miss, there could be opportunity somewhere.

But to suggest that Pierce is solely worth a MLE level contract is a bit foolish. This guy was plenty productive last year, and played quite well during the playoffs.
