The comments are hilarious. “Let’s fire our coach because we have the best record in the league but lost a few games.”

“Ime wouldn’t have let this happen”

The team was barely 500 at this point last year with Ime.

Mazzulla’s response about JB sounds like something Pop would say. I doubt the board would be questioning it if Pop said it.

Everyone take a deep breath and relax.

I still get annoyed by Joe's resistance to call timeouts even when the other team goes on a 20-0 run

But last night to me had way more to do with execution and playing timid. For one, Jaylen HAS to hit at least one of those FTs to tie it, but he missed both. But even before that, it felt like the C's were at 115 for ages but could never get another bucket even with good looks. That's not really on Mazzulla, the players have to play a full game and not let up. Felt inevitable NYK would pull ahead, and they did. The defense actually tightened up and got better the final 5 minutes of the 4th + all of OT, but the C's ultimately only scored 7 points in OT (and just 2 points the final 3 minutes)

I will say though, the focus has been on Hauser/Kornet/Griffin (and rightfully so) but it's also not ideal that Grant Williams has suddenly turned into a pumpkin as well lately. Brad Stevens has work to do at the deadline to help with the depth, that's for sure.

I was able to watch some but not the whole game.  What I saw is them reverting back to old habits on offense.  They just gave the ball to Tatum and stood around.  Pick, stand around.  Back down, stand around.  That is not going to cut it.  They often fell into this last season also.  They still have the highest per game points average (117.6) but they are prone to dry spells.  And they are trending down.

They can score points, they have the talent, but they need to execute consistently and especially during crunch time.  The Knicks pretty much slowed their offense for 3 quarters.  We fell right into it.

I am not saying Joe is a trash coach but he has room to improve.  Even the best expert have room to improve.  That being said, I am sure Joe Mazulla knows more about basketball than me or many of us but he is not perfect, no one is .....
