Any chance of someone giving us a 2024 or 2025 pick 30-35 protected second round pick for our 2022 second? Or are we better of rolling the dice on someone and having a relatively cheap contract as our 14th man?

(1)why?
(2)why would another team trade us a likely better pick than the one we're giving up?
(3)if we use the pick, what makes you think Brad doesn't continue the string of draft-and-stash second round picks?  Team already has about 5 guys on the roster lucky to be collecting an NBA paycheck.  Team needs quality off the bench, not another second rounder struggling to make the league.

I'd try to package it with the 23 1st for a player that fits in the TPE (trade made before draft, but finalized after).
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Keep it.  A late 2nd is the cheapest player a team in the luxury tax can have, which will hopefully allow the team to spend a little more elsewhere.

Probably tax relief now and/or they have an odd affinity for someone still available at the end of the second?

Agree and probably why I threw the idea out there.

I like the idea of finalizing a deal where we bundle it with the ‘23 first and the TPE for a depth piece. We should do something like that since we’re bound to be over the cap no matter what and may not get as lucky next year when we face the Bucks (e.g., healthy Middleton). At the same time, if we can get that quality depth piece for the ‘23 1st and the TPE, this ‘22 2nd would be ultra cheap for a 14th man. We’ll see what Stevens does.

With us not having a draft pick last season, I wish we could acquire a pick in this draft, maybe by using our '23 first + a second.  It often takes a few seasons for rookies to develop into reliable rotation pieces and I don't want to let an extended chunk of the pipeline get too thin.
2020 CelticsStrong All-2000s Draft -- Utah Jazz

Finals Starters:  Jason Kidd - Reggie Miller - PJ Tucker - Al Horford - Shaq
Bench:  Rajon Rondo - Trae Young - Marcus Smart - Jaylen Brown -  Peja Stojakovic - Jamal Mashburn - Carlos Boozer - Tristan Thompson - Mehmet Okur

I like some of the guys at the end of the second round this year. This is an odd year because some guys got an extra year of eligibility due to covid so there are some older guys that would make deep bench guys right away in the late second. I hope we can grab a useful player.

That’s a great point. There’s possibly a diamond in the rough we can more easily identify because of the extra year.
