I didn't know this award exist but anyway, congrats to our Smart. Very successful season for him. Hopefully it carries over the whole team next season.

Another well deserved one. I really feel like Marcus is a confidence based player on offense, will these couple of big awards and recognitions give him that extra boost and turn him into an efficient 15 ppg player with all the extras that he does. My guess is yes.

Congrats to the hustla!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Marcus is NBA Hustle winner and NBA All-Defensive 1st team. Also has offensive skills that are improving year to year.  At 25 and with  a salary of 12-14M over the next 3 years, he’s one of the best values in the league.

Glad he’s still a Celtic!

How anyone can say trade Marcus Smart I have no idea. I understand his limitations, but THIS is the guy you want young players around.

And IMO there is still more upside to his game. We need to concentrate our efforts on bigs because he is capable of being a solid starting PG.

With those floating lobs he tosses to bigmen, he is very Paul-esq

That's high praise, but Smart generally doesn well in the pick-and-roll. He uses his body to keep the defender on his hip and then just waits for the help defender to bite. We haven't played much with big athletic centers who roll to the basket, but Smart (and Hayward) have had good success with Theis and Williams. Want to see much more of that.

I would focus on (2) bigs, as Smart is fully capable of being the PG, especially if GH is in the lineup.  Back up point guard will be important to have a pass first guy.  Now if you can pick up a strong 2nd tier PG like brogdon, etc then maybe you go for a big and 2nd tier BU C and have one of GH, MS, or JB on the bench to start.  I think I like MS starting though...The D would be huge.  Then I prefer a D first C to pair with that lineup, and help hide GH and JT as the forwards.

Happy for Smart! Dude definitely deserved this award and his 1st team all defense. I hope he starts for us next year whether as PG or starting alongside a guy like Kemba

I’m pretty sure they created this award just for Smart. Either way, good that he gets the recognition he gets.

This award already exists since the founding of this gimmicky event in 2017. The very first winner was Patrick Beverly, followed by Amir Johnson (lol).
