  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Chandler is good, but he's not the guy you want as the future small forward of your organization.
He's one of those guys that goes to a team like Denver, Milwaukee, Cleveland as a guy to sell tickets and keep the fan base happy as the team settles for a continuous 4th,5th,6th seed year after year.

Really not interested to be honest.
It's either go after marquee guys or hit rock bottom.

He ain't either.

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

His performance drops like a rock during the playoffs.

He's only played 5 career Playoff games and they were on a team he was traded to at the deadline...

For the right price, he's a solid starter IMO. No, he's not a star, and shouldn't be paid like one (even though somebody probably will). However, he rebounds, he blocks shots, he can give you 15PPG, plays hard, young, healthy... that's a solid piece. 15 PPG, 5 RPG, 1 BPG, above average defense, 45% FG, 35% 3PT, 80% FT. In other words, a solid above average player.

As long as he's ultimately the 3rd or 4th banana on the team I think he's worth somewhere north of the MLE and less than $10M. I think the right environment could upgrade him to a plus defender (in addition to his shot blocking from the wing).

I'd actually really like to have him, but it's all about the price.
