I believe it's going to take more than 5 years and *THREE* more Championships for the C's to even entertain the idea of retiring KG's number.

Remember that KG spent practically his entire basketball career in Minny.....

And as far as Ray-Ray goes, I don't see him getting his number retired here...He *will* go into the HOF, though(but as a Supersonic....providing the City gets a team back by then)

Barring unforeseen developments I'd say he qualified the second they won a championship.  I think he's the Celts equivalent of Curt Schilling in 2004 without the bloody sock drama.

Does anybody know:

Do any NBA stars have their numbers retired in multiple NBA franchises?

Julius Erving got his number 32 retired by the Nets and number 6 retired by the Sixers. Oscar Robertson got his number 1 retired by the Bucks and number 14 retired by the Kings.

Those are the only two that I know of.
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

Wow if Barkley got his number retired from the Suns and Drexler with the Rockets then I think there is a very good chance we could do the same with KG and Ray provided they play here another 5 years.  Especially since knowing how kind the C's are with retiring numbers.   It's not like the Sox where it seems much harder to get your number retired.

That's awkward. Why would the Heat retire MJ's number?

Without 5 there is no 17. He definitely should have his number retired.

True, so at least the Heat had a reason to do this... but the Hornets retiring Maravich's jersey?? It makes no sense...
