i really don't think rondo will make the allstar team this year. it'll be harris and iverson for the pg's. rondo is probably the best pass first point guard in the league besides maybe kidd. all the other pg are score first.

If Rondo doesn't make the All-star team its cuz we didn't vote. Twice a day, everyday.

Its easy for a Celtic homer to say Rondo is an all star this year. But to be honest he wont even be close. No guy avg a 10 and 8 will get voted by any1 outside of new england. Sorry!

debatable if hes starting pg for best record in the leagu
debatable if hes starting pg of world champs
debatable if fisher gets ANY vote outside LA
debatable if reserves are not picked by votes
debatable if you watch any of his last 5 games
debatable because of the competition

You forgot 'debatable if they consider defense. Defense is half the game.

I don't know about Rondo being the best past first point in the league. What about Nash, CP3 and Deron? I'd consider those guys pass first points also.

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe the poster meant "best pass first point guard who can't shoot", though Kidd is very efficient from 3.

The Celtics play when Rondo is on the court and when he is off the court is like night and day. Apparently that's all KG, Allen, and Pierce. Yet, the fact that he has less than 15 pts and 10 assists is indefensible? A qualified professional has stated that Rondo is the best PG in the east, yet no one except but a homer would vote for him? I don't think the argument carries much water.

I think Eastern conference coaches are well aware of how good Rondo is. I think he has been the best pg in the East over the last month. And over the last two weeks,he has been top 3 in the NBA.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

He was pretty ordinary tonight. I doubt he makes the team to be honest. Rondo's defenes is all steals and gambles. He doesn't do a stellar job keeping guys in front of him. It's not a big deal as really no PG can. But I don't think defense at the PG spot is 'half the game'. The PG is the QB of the offense - so his role really is more about running the offense and setting guys up.

Now at the center spot - defense is probably more then half a center's value.

Obie is an excellent coach and he knew the main way to stop the celtics was to stop rondo and he did that real good. Most of the time the only thing rondo could do was make easy passes and/or shoot (but can't shoot consistantly still)

Without that shot a team like indie could make him ineffective

I don't know what you saw but Rondo wasn't broken down off the dribble consistently tonight. What other teams do is set a lot of picks on the ball to free up their PG. This forces defensive rotations naturally and Rondo does a good a job as any PG of fighting through picks.

Just watch the difference between House and Rondo and how opposing offensives function. Rondo isn't perfect but he's a very good defensive point guard.

The Secret To a Great Rondo Game:

Set lots of picks for Rondo over and over again, throw in an occasional offensive set for Ray Allen, let Pierce play defense

by the way, Great Rondo Game = double digit win!

The High Post is KG's bread and butter, Rondo got no right being there!  :P
