Surprised New York survived.

Also that Portland won by such a large margin. I thought that was a very close series.

I don't think win margin is necessarily an indicator of how 'easy' or 'hard' a win would be here. I think a lot of people can decide that one team wins by close margin.

Good point.  If 7 people decide IP wins in double overtime of game 7 the win would look like a wide margin though in the peoples minds would still be close

Wow.  People must love Tim Duncan.

Wow our 3rd conf. finals in 4 years... Looks like people don't love Tim Duncan, as much as they love my good looks and effervescent personality haha. ;D

Or maybe they have faith in the guys we have faith in -- Deron Williams, Luol Deng, Taj Gibson, Jodie Meeks, Nick Young, DeJuan Blair. Our team is a good example of the total being greater than simply the sum of the parts. Or everyone loves an underdog. Or Wonderdog. Or even Wonderdoug.

I just recounted the votes and it looks like the result was actually Knicks 12 - Pacers 10.  Very close.

Well done, GC, and congrats to you.  I'm honestly a little surprised.  Very few people made vocal that they thought NYK would beat the Pacers.  I wish more people had given reasons why that way I could have possibly given my defense for why I truly think the Pacers would have won.  I can understand everyone has busy lives though.

Great job everyone!  The draft was awesome.  KC, that first round matchup was a blast!  (I wish I didn't have to join late.)  And, GC, congratulations again on your second round victory!  And thanks a million to IP who has made this possible!

Well I forgot to vote before I crashed last night so it'd have been 12-11 in that case. But I clearly missed voting deadline by a long time so its not all that relevant.

I actually think that you matchup better against Philly than the Pacers, so we'll have to see what goes down in the threads!

You should also consider that you got Deron Williams on your team, so you have two first round picks. I know that's not where you started, but its where you ended up.

Action, I was one of those who voted New York in your matchup.

Ultimately, it came down to my thought that Deron, Deng, and Duncan is a pretty solid core and they were competent enough at the PF position where not to be run out of the building there.

I'm not as high on Marc Gasol as some and I'm a huge Deron Williams fan.  I'm also a bit slanted towards Deng over Gay.

I think I had mentioned it in the matchup thread but I thought it was the toughest semi-final to call.  You and S.O. defintely put together a very solid basketball team.

I guess while we're at it, here was my entire 2nd round ballot.

Eastern Conference

Washington
New York

Western Conference

Sacramento
Portland

yeah i was including our starting positions to show what a cunning thief shrewd GM we have running the ship here in Gainesville New York.

I betcha right now Edgar is wishing that he never traded away Deron Williams.

Actually I think it was the right move for Edgar -- he needed an overall talent upgrade and got it in the 3-for-1 for Deron. The reverse snake draft certainly allows for more teams to compete in different ways.
