didnt he say he was retiring when this contract is up?  anything is possible though. i never thought jordan would come out of retirement the second time with the wizards (as a huge jordan fan, i was upset he did that.  he could have left the game the perfect way for his legacy).

Steve Kerr will not pull the trigger unless he gets quality players like KG or Perk + Powe. Steve thinks Shaq is a sine qua non piece of the Suns for a title run this year or next year. He knows too well that to get to the Finals his team must go through either LAL or the Spurs (a team which he played alongside Duncan). With Shaq in his lineup, he gets somebody who takes either team (Kobe for LA and Duncan for the Spurs) personally. Those are personalities/players who can handle a team and lead it farther than anyone can imagine. In short, with Shaq in his roster, he's got somebody who is more motivated than any player in the West.
