These are pretty dope, but they get sort of blistery after a while. Comfort wise, the Starbury's have much better arch support.

Huaraches or the NB8026 look like good shoes for you. Won't you need ankle braces with the Zoom Kobe?

I'm using a pair of Nike Dunk High myself. They're terrible, but I don't jump or run anymore (I'm pulling a Curry) and I like the retro look.

Yer I've just read the Zoom Kobe's are quiet flimsy around the ankle area. I do have a solid ankle brace I can wear but I'd much prefer not to.

I'd be the envy of every baller on the court!

*did actually get a pair of starbury's while in new york this year. pretty comfy but no toe protection which as of present is why my toe is black.

Hey everyone, I got my basketball season coming up in about a week and I need new shoes! It'd would be great if those of you who know a bit bout the topic could give me some recommendations!

Here are my needs:
- Good Ankle support
- Lightweight (would be ideal)
- Not alot of thickness in the sole (My feet cramp up easy :()

Don't hate me, but as much I dislike Kobe, his Zoom III's are sorta what I'm leaning towards at the present.

Thanks heaps in advance.

i highly recommend the cp3's.  they are lightweight, solid ankle support, and some of the best traction you will find available on the market right now. (yes, i am a "sneakerhead" and know my stuff)

Have you seen the app on the Converse site where you can design your own shoe?

http://www.converse.com/index.aspx?mode=c1#CATEGORYC1

I am addicted - they won't have the Weapons 86 available to design until this fall... but I love those shoes!
Now, on to 18...

You might find one of these on eBay.

The only thing i'm an expert on is purchasing shoes over the internet.

Everything is available on e-bay (either currently or eventually) and if you pay more than $70 for ANY shoe you are simply a sucker IMHO.

I have often found shoes that hurt my toes, and I've gone with shoes that are too big with two socks, to shoes that are a bit too small.  Which shoes have souls that are cushy and protect the toe, while having ankle support and traction and all that?

Any help would be much appreciated.

ebay is filled with tons of fake shoes. be very careful buying sneakers on ebay. if you dont know much about sneakers, i recommending finding someone who is so that u dont bid/buy fakes.

I am no expert or even know much about shoes, but I think if I were to get new basketball shoes, the next pair I would aim for are And1s (similarly I look for light weight, good ankle support as well as good grip rather than 'not alot of thicknessin the sole'-which I'm not sure about).

Also you can have a look at some Wade's (I never had them but my mate has a 2-3 pairs and obviously likes them)- and he also looks for similar style I think.

And-1s are cheap for a reason - they fall apart.

Wade's are decent shoes but not good if you've had ankle/foot problems in the past...

I've owned a few pairs of each - the Converse Wades are definitely better.

Don't by jumpmans they feel like 5pd weights on your foot.
God bless and good night!

Adidas bounce is a good shoe. Plus, it's close to what KG wears.

Yea, I got a pair of Garnett Bounce and they got great ankle support.

Really? I'm not doubting you, but I just havn't heard about that (but that's probably because I know very few people who's worn And1s)
Anything is possible!!!

yea, and1's dont hold up very well for consistent, serious play.

i would say nike is the best company for producing quality basketball shoes.  they also own converse as well.

adidas has improved their quality for performance over the last two years, but still is yet to reach the same level of performance as nike.

Dark Lord, maybe you could help to explain to me the difference between the zoom kobe III and the zoom kobe III SL?

Also are the Zoom touch's any good? they seem like they are quite similar to the BB models, but a little cheaper.

Oh btw, can anyone reccomend the best shoe site to buy off? Preferably with low shipping costs  ;D

Cheers
