Smart Suspended by Team - Will miss Orlando Preseason Game

Not sure what exactly he did, but he has been suspended by the team for at least the preseason game against the Magic.

This is according to Bleacher Report.

Ime Udoka said Marcus Smart violated a team rule and it's been handled internally. Udoka said that Smart is remorseful. Udoka clarified that Smart broke one of his (Udoka's) rules that he instituted when he was hired as Celtics coach.

The fact that he's just missing a preseason game makes me think that it's more of a message than a serious transgression.  Late for a meeting or something on that level.

Yep, sounds like it’s one of Ime’s rules and him suspending him rather than the team. Would imagine its something small.

But absolutely love this and what Ime is doing here. This team needs some discipline that was never instilled during Brad’s tenure, and Ime seems like just the guy to do it. Go coach!

If the coach suspends you, I sort of consider that being suspended by the "team" but I understand how there is a slight difference between that and the organization doing it.

In the grand scheme of things here, its almost certainly an isolated event that's not going to lead to anything. 

This is Smart's 8th season with the team.  Its not like there is a trend here.

I'd like to know why he missed the flight. Seems like he didn't have a valid excuse (such as a health or family emergency), but instead overslept or something like that.
