Oladipo back to Miami
Interesting. I had read that he wasn't expected to be signed for months because of his injury.

Oladipo back to Miami
I wonder if Oladipo would come off the bench and be a 6th man for Miami.

G: Lowry
G: Oladipo
F: Jimmy Butler, Duncan Robinson
F: PJ Tucker
C: Adebayo

vs

G: Lowry
G: Jimmy Butler, Oladipo
F: Duncan Robinson
F: PJ Tucker
C: Adebayo

It just feels like that first lineup needs some more shooting on it. Plus Oladipo needs the ball and that is Jimmy's ball. Then Lowry's ball. Then Dipo's. 3rd option. Maybe he'd be more comfortable coming off the bench and being the main or 2nd option for most of the game and then finishing the game as a 3rd option after he is in a groove offensively (been involved more during the game).

He'll probably come off the bench. I'm thinking:

G: Lowry
G: Jimmy Butler
F: Duncan Robinson
F: PJ Tucker
C: Adebayo

With Dipo, Herro, Markieff, and Dedmon rounding out the main rotation.
Tucker is toast. I can't imagine he'd start for them.

I would like to see us get a 1 year backup PF or Wing, and maybe a PG.   Anything has to be better than GW and CEdwards.   But I doubt it, but then again I did not think we would sign Kanter.

John Collins just signed with the Hawks. So much for dreaming of getting him in the TT trade. So with that out of the way, I hope the final details of the TT deal is announced soon.
Maybe sign & trade

If so then the Beal dream is highly unlikely now? Unless Al is moved?

We're not getting John Collins. He's going back to Atlanta.

With Collins signed, I would think that ATL would want to move Gallinari.  Not sure how we could help them with that.  We would have to send out at least $16.5M or so.  Thompson is $9.7M.  Would need another $8M'ish to trade for him.
Wyc says no to Gallinari. References something about flexibility. And saving money.

Hadn't heard that, but it is fair.  How about something around Gallinari to SAC, Bagley to BOS, and something from Boston to ATL (I know, the something is the hard part).   There has been mention of a 4th team now in the discussion.  If a 4th team had cap space and/or a TPE that could absorb Gallinari, that would allow this whole thing to start to come together, maybe.

So San Antonio's lineup is looking like

G: Dejuante Murray, Lonnie Walker
G: Derrick White, Bryn Forbes
F: Doug McDermott
F: Thaddeus Young, Al Farouq Aminu
C: Jakob Poeltl, Zach Collins

That is not a good team.

Looks like the got enough talent to take them out of the mix for a top 5 draft pick. So not even tanking correctly. Trying to win and failing.

Yeah.  Sometimes max cap space gets you a star.  Other times, you end up with Collins, McDermott and Forbes.

The Warriors' bill is estimated at $185 million while the Nets will pay $122 million.

If the Los Angeles Clippers re-sign Kawhi Leonard to his max, they will have a $54 million luxury tax bill.

The Los Angeles Lakers ($36 million), Utah Jazz ($29 million) and Milwaukee Bucks ($29 million) also have luxury tax penalties.

Quote
The previous highest luxury tax bill in NBA history belongs the 13-14 Brooklyn Nets at $90.6 million.

I can't check this trade as none of the trade checkers are up to date.  Would something like this work or am I missing something:

ATL
Out:   $20.4M  Galinari
In:     $18.2M  Thompson/Wright

SAC
Out:   $19.8   Bagley/Wright
In:     $20.4   Gallinari

BOS
Out:    $9.7   Thompson
In:     $11.3  Bagley

Could this be why Kanter was signed:

I’m told the #Celtics are prepared to offer the Washington #Wizards a package of Marcus Smart, Robert Williams, Aaron Nesmith and 3 first round picks for Bradley Beal.

Dam, that's a lot, would like to hold either Aaron on RWill....

I don't think the money works on that. The Celtics are 13 million short.

To be fair, there is buzz on Twitter that something may be going down with Beal, as he, his wife, and a Wizards reporter all Tweeting some interesting messages today.

Of course, the money doesn’t work out in the above deal. Horford almost certainly has to go in any Beal deal absent losing Brown.

EDIT:

Apparently the Wiz owner was trashing Russell Westbrook and NBA players last night for dictating where they are playing and forcing trades? Yikes. Not a good look given the context of Beal’s situation lol

Combine it into the TT deal and you get closer
