Baynes was a large negative contributor for the Raptors last year. Not sure he has much left in the tank. He might be done.

Even without the injury risk, I am not sure any team should be counting on him as a rotation player anymore. A 3rd stringer who can give you some physical post D against power centers. Not good for much else.

As much as I love Baynes, I agree. He's not a very good rebounder, is injury-prone, nearly 35 and would be our 4th best big.

I'm with yas on this. Just a nope.

Oubre to the Hornets

They already have PJ Washington & Miles Bridges to play alongside Hayward at forward. I do not see much of a need for Oubre. There is a small role there for Oubre but no much else.

Andre Iguodala has narrowed his choices to GSW, the Lakers or the Nets.

I hate seeing one of my favorite players going to any of those teams.  I'm predicting he heads to LA, though.
He fits that LA age group. Turns 38 in 5 months

Ighodala is cooked..he may as well join the geriatrics in LA.

Doesn't make much sense to me. Bridges and Oubre seem very redundant to me

Wouldn’t it be crazy if Brad suddenly trades for Hayward this off season? I mean he’s trying to get every guy that Danny traded away.

If Hayward is hurt it'd be insurance.

Haha, terrifying.

Maybe we're clearing cap space for Kyrie? ;D

Yeah, it seems hard to draw a path for Markkanen to get to the Celtics but right now, all he has is a $9M 1 year deal from a team that doesn't seem to want him and probably won't play him or develop him.  That is really a lose lose.

We can probably finagle a sign and trade with Thompson and say Grant Williams where we could offer up to $15M (more than Kelly Olynyk got).  I don't know all the rules but maybe we only guarantee the first year and also give him an opt out so it is essentially a 1 year deal for him but at a lot more money than $9M and for a team that really would play him and develop him.  Worst case he is better than Thompson and Williams and best case he gives us 19 pts / 9 rebs like he did just a couple of years back (2018-19).

Quote
The player must receive a contract of either 3 or 4 years (not including any option years), where only the first year must be fully guaranteed. (5-year sign-and-trade contracts were abolished in the 2017 CBA to disincentivize the transaction.) In turn, this means that he cannot be signed using a salary cap exception that does not allow the team to offer a 3-year contract.

Good for him! I don't expect Boston to be the landing spot (despite what my inquiry above led some to believe). But I think he's a good player and hope he ends up out West.
