According to KRON4 News, the 76ers declined a trade offer from the Indiana Pacers.

NBA reporter Jason Dumas tweeted: “The Sixers have already fielded offers for Ben Simmons but continue to hold a stance that they will only trade him for an all-star calibre player. They most recently turned down a deal with the Pacers that included Malcolm Brogdon and the 13th pick.”

The Pacers are not the only team vying for the Simmons services, the Minnesota Timberwolves reportedly want the three-time All-Star. The 76ers could also look to include him in a potential trade deal for the disgruntled Damian Lillard, according to The Ringer.

Brodgon and 13 seems like a reasonable deal.

Brogdon and someone like Corey Kispert would actually be really solid pieces alongside Embiid. Depth chart of:

Brogdon / Milton
Curry / Korkmaz
Thybulle / Kispert
Harris / MLE target or Paul Reed
Embiid / Vet big

I'd be pretty scared of Embiid with that many shooters around him.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Yeah, I have to say Brogdon would seem to be a near perfect fit for Philly.  He's a legit PG who is a quality defender, a quality outside shooter and can be a competent 2nd or 3rd scoring option. Seems like more or less exactly what they need.

You can count on the Sixers to make the wrong choice.

I guess I’m not a fan of Simmons ,  but I would have done the deal as Malcolm is a better fit with Embiid plus 13 pick.  Simmons has head issues .

Value isn't near good enough even if Brogdon would be a great fit there.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Me too. You gotta be looking at guys the caliber of a James Harden, a Damian Lillard or at least a Bradley Beal in return for Ben Simmons.

Not a Malcolm Brogdon. And certainly not a player who is only as good as Brogdon is but comes with a ton of injury issues as well. Not a good return.

If Warren is healthy, I think something like Brogdon, Warren, 13, future 1st for Simmons does make a bit more sense for the Sixers.  Warren was really looking like a player before his injury.  I mean if he gets back into his near 20 ppg with over 40% from 3 again, that could have a real benefit.  Still might not be enough for the Sixers, and frankly I'd try to make them take Harris off my hands with LeVert

So Harris, Simmons for LeVert, Brogdon, Warren, 13, future 1st

Sixers then have so much shooting around Embiid and shave a ton of money off their books, and I do think a starting 5 of Brogdon, LeVert, Thybulle, Warren, and Embiid would be a super tough out especially with still having Curry, Green, Hill, Scott, Maxey, and Milton on their bench (maybe they bring back Howard also).

Pacers would be super interesting with a starting 5 of Simmons, Lamb, Harris, Sabonis, and Turner as well.

Simmons isn’t in the same class as any of those players. He’s regressed and has no offensive game whatsoever. You can’t be a contender with him as your second best player, maybe 3rd...

Maybe if it was Simmons + picks and prospects, but Simmons alone is not an appealing piece. The money he earns despite his inability to improve is absurd

People living in the past on simmons. If he was good as harden lillard or beal the 76ers would still be playing right now. Now
I get lillard is older and has a crazy contract, so maybe that would actually work out. But people acting like Ben is a superstar is just strange at this point. We have seen this repeatedly in the playoffs. Not sure how many more times people want to see it

Agreed. He's a worse player than he was in his rookie year.

except he isn't.  Significantly better defender and actually a more efficient shooter from the field and the line.  He certainly hasn't progressed like most young players do i.e. much smaller and incremental improvement, but he still has improved and is a better player today than as a rookie.
