Just tired of all the posts I'm seeing advocating nonsense like trading pierce or KG or "KG is done"... yeah if you can get KMart or AI2 for Ray allen, you probably have to make that trade and I hear that.
But for those of us who went through many years of bad celtic teams, remember just how hard it is to build a championship squad. we're not that far off with the one we have right here!
You went through many years of bad Celtic teams because they held on to the last Big 3 for too long. This team is further off than you think. Each of those 3 players needs to be dumped (Maybe not Paul if he resigns for an affordable contract so he can retire a Celtic).
No that's a canard and just out curiosity were you a fan during that time? Also I think he added the guy that should be traded if the deal is available.
I was born in 89 but have been a fan of the Celtics since I knew what basketball was and also have the internet as a tool, so it's not like I don't understand the past.
Fact: The last time the old big 3 won was in 1986.
Fact: The old big 3 was still together in 1991.
That means they were together for too long, they were no longer good enough to beat other teams that had players like Magic (Kobe), and Jordan (LeBron). We will continue losing to good young teams if we don't make moves. I understand optimism but do you guys seriously think this team has what it takes and should be kept together?
Banner 17 was this big 3's 86. Right now we're at 2010 (1988)... do you want to watch this team continue to not compete against good teams until 2013 (1991)? Danny has said himself he would have traded Larry and those guys to get young talent. You don't let your teams become stagnant just because you want to be loyal to certain players. That is terribly stupid. You go through rebuilding phases.
If you think this team shouldn't make a move because they have what it takes this year to win it all, as well as next year when Ray comes off the books and we get nothing in return because we'll still be over the cap... then I give up my argument because you're obviously not thinking.
