Tracey, wade and paul going too early imo.

Great for ke getting more of my guys later

You know - CP3 is one of the few strong PGs out there that could've managed Kobe's HUGE (and at times destructive) ego.

I worry more about CP3's ego than Kobe's.

I think you gotta build your whole offense around CP3 if he is on your team. Kobe, on the other hand, can at least play in different systems. He'll go off on his own at times but overall ... I am more confident in Kobe's ability alongside other stars than CP3.

No...I would have Wade as a top 30 player or so. I think he was picked about right.

With listing West as a PG, I had Wade as my #3 ranked SG.  Pretty solid grab right here.  And a lot of SGs to be drafted later aren't great defenders so would struggle guarding Wade.

Guess my CP3 pick wasn't that popular, eh? That's fine. I believe he was the best PG left on the board. I think his strong personality will be tempered by Dr. J and Kareem's cool, quiet personalities and championship pedigrees. He's a guy that's gonna make sure Kareem gets the ball in the best spots, and a Dr. J/CP3 fast break will be a menace to guard.

I am shocked that, for me, a top 20 player in league history, is still on the board.
Ah him. I mean there are some concerns over whether he'd fit the modern NBA, but yeah I'm surprised to see no one pick him.

TP. I passed on atleast four guys now on my board because of modern NBA fit issues.

Again, imagine these players all having grown up with all the same training, diets, supplements, AAU teams, financial freedom, and playing in the same rules.

What do their games look like now? What would their stats look like now? How dominant would they be now?

This player not chosen would dominate today's game.

I confirmed with nick to make sure we had the same player, and yep, he’d be a beast.

there are 2 guys left that I'm surprised are left. 1 is very surprising to me, the other a bit less so, but both to me are clear top 30 players and arguably top 20 players.

I think he's a good pick.  I think his personality is an asset, not a detriment.  He's a point god, a true floor general.  He can get your team into its offense, he can run a very efficient pick and roll offense, he can shoot from outside, he can defend.  Great player for this game.

Only thing is there are multiple other point guards available right now that there isn't much, if any, separation between CP3 and them.

And some of those other guys have more accomplished careers.

Value wise, I think it is a fine pick.

I believe (and I might be alone in this) you just gotta build the team around CP3 (in order to make it work well). I feel the same way about Wilt -- and he has limited my choices each round, I would've picked other guys if not for him complicating matters. I am often worried how Wilt would do next to certain players. Dude is awkward.

I did not know who CP3's teammates were until now. I wouldn't want to build my offense around CP3 when I have Kareem. Kareem is way better. Not sure how well those guys work together. I need to think more about that.

True, it was a tough choice between CP3 and several other point guards. I traded down because I knew I could at least get one of them this round.

I wonder if in a future Historical Draft if we should do a 4-5 year peak instead of a single season. That would help eliminate some of the injury guys / wonder season guys. Reward players that were more consistent over a few years.

I know I wouldn't have rated players like Shaq or Wilt as high as I do under this format. It would give some different results.

And a 4-5 year peak is short enough that most top players have a largely stable level of play over that period. Maybe even take the worst year of the 4-5 year period. Rather than the best. Again, reward consistency and having a longer resume.

I don't believe that to be the case at all. He played well with ******, and he moved aside for ********. I think having a fantastic playmaker like CP3 will help him, rather then hinder him.
