Roy & Co, don't run away now because you proved me wrong on 1 of the 2 records, and then think I don't know what I'm talking about on anything.

I am still looking for a verification on the 10 fouls in 5:38 being a record.

I can't speak for Roy, or Dons, or Steve or anyone else on this entire forum, but I have completely stopped taking this seriously. In a word, "Whatever"

However I'd advise against calling out "Roy & Co".

It's your job to prove something is a record, it's not mine to disprove it.  If you don't know whether something is a record, don't label it as such.

Anyway, this has been beaten to death.  You're on notice of our rules, now, at the very least.

I'm not "calling people out" that is your interpretaion.   I am asking people for help on the stats so I know for sure.

I was labeling them as maybe being records to try and find out if they were.   If 10 in 5:38 isn't a record well it sure is close.

If something is a record, why do I have to prove it? A record is a record.

Here's the thing, though, and I promise you, I am saying this for the very last time in this thread, because frankly, I co-sign IP's above sentiment - and I would really like you to hear me on this one particular point:

Neither the mod staff nor our readership functions as your personal research staff.

It is not okay to post potentially fallacious claims and then when called out upon it, ask other people on the site to clean up your mess.

If you are going to post anything under the label of "fact," please, I implore you to verify it first.

OK I am wrong about 1 of the records I thank all of you for helping me out on that.

The 10 consecutive foul calls by one team in 5:38 is a valid statistic. That is what happened.  And if it is a record or not, that is yet to be determined, so I will not state it as such.   The stats I posted are facts, the NBA record part has yet to be determined.

OK so let me know if I can ask these questions.

Do you think that 10 non-intentional foul calls in a row in 5:38 is excessive?

If you feel it isn't excessive do you know of any other examples throughout history when this has occured?

If you feel it isn't excessive is it up to you to show other examples to prove that you are correct?

That post is ok. You're not making any statistical claims, and you're not misrepresenting any numbers or ideas as facts.

And I agree, it is excessive, but it is also only 6 minutes.

A record is a record.
This is clearly not always the case. Here are some sources to back up my claim.

Cool, so all I am trying to find out is if it is the most excessive of all-time.   If you find an example of 11 straight non-intentional fouls in 5:38 or less, or 10 straight non-intentional fouls in 5:37 or less I would appreciate it.

Do all of you believe it is the most excessive of all-time, or do you believe that a worse string of calls has happened in the past?

So the only game I know of as being the worst officiated game ever was Game 6
LAL 106 - SAC 102   2002 WCF.

If that 5:38 was worse, let me know.

With all due respect, I think some posters need to get that stick out of the bum-bum.  Who cares if these are true or not?  Since when do we have to come up with statistical sources to prove a claim?  I understand rumors, because those can be avalanched, but if we all have to provide sources when posting numbers then we'd be in trouble.  Maybe we should start adding footnotes in the end of the posts, or perhaps add a bibliography in the end.  I am sorry, I just got frustrated by reading 4 pages of whining from both sides of the argument, and nothing from the actual purpose of the thread.
