bored - playing on trade machine - always dangerous

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ylo9cyy

Ray, Scal, and Baby (and a 1st rounder for fun)

for

Amare and Richardson

clears bigtime money off Suns payroll for next year

gives us a replacement for Ray at the SG position and adds star young talent

isn't that a better offer than Big Z and a draft pick or Hickson?

I was thinking the same thing, actually.  A rumor is that the Suns want the Heat to take on J-Rich in any Amare deal (for O'Neal's expiring contract).  If the asking price for both players is so modest, I think you have to make an offer.

Of course, if there's actual talent going to Phoenix -- i.e., Beasley -- then we can't really match that.

I've been thinking the same thing...J-Rich is a very good ray replacement, pretty much gives us what Ray does. Only one more year under contract. Amare is a major upgrade from Baby in the big man rotation. Deal with his player option in the offseason.

Perk + Ray for Amare + JRich?  It sounds like a made-up rumor, but if it has legs, I'd probably pull the trigger at this point.

I agree that it sounds made up, but it makes a lot of sense for both sides. While he's overpaid, I've always liked J-Rich and wouldn't mind seeing him complete a few Rondo oops.

Here's to hoping...

One of his tweets is to Nate Robinson congradulating him on a move to Boston. Little birdie tells me that this guy is trying to rile us up... and admittedly, is doing a pretty good job at doing so (at least for me).

if this and the nate robinson deal happens, we would have two former dunk champions. Might as well give Gerald a call, could he get from Russia to LA by Thursday?!  ;)

Not a bad Trade. Do you think Ainge is thinking about this?

This guy must have created his Twitter account this morning, his oldest tweet dates back to 9 hours ago, and he says nothing reliable (like StarOrien said, he congratulates Nate on his move to Boston ::)).

I don't know if I would be willing to take J-Rich for Ray. He is very inconsistent and he doesn't strike me as a guy with a good basketball IQ. He has never made much of an impact in every team he played for (except maybe GS).

Also, would you really be OK with Stoudemire as your starting center? The guy doesn't play D at all, which is what Perks brings to the table...

Perk + Ray for Amare + JRich?  It sounds like a made-up rumor, but if it has legs, I'd probably pull the trigger at this point.

It makes a lot of sense for both teams.  We would have to include a minimum contract (Maybe Giddens?) to make it work, but it saves the Suns $5 million (not counting luxury tax) this season, and then a ton more next season, plus they get a good, young Center to replace Amare.

For the C's, they get a shot of life both in the frontcourt and backcourt.  They could move Garnett to center (where he should be playing anyways, based on his lack of mobility).

It could completely blow up on the C's, but if it does, then they just let Amare walk, and then trade Richardson's expiring contract next season.  But it also has the potential to propel this team back to the top of the league.
