I was just watching NBA TV and there was a section on the top dunking point guards (of all time) but most were of our era (D. Rose, Robinson, etc.) Rondo wasn't on the list at all.

Can I get a little love, please? At least an honorable mention or something?

Yup, he was on there. Number 7 or 8 I think. Great dunk.

I'm struggling to think of any point guard with more outstanding dunks than Baron Davis.

Penny Hardaway had a lot but he's a big 6-7 point guard. Steve Francis was a very good dunker too.

Baron Davis was #3 on the list if I remember correctly. Steve Francis was also on the list 5 or 6 I believe. Penny wasn't on the list though. They showed the Davis dunk over Kirilenko, completely owned him.

  • Rondo = Good
In today's NBA, Russell Westbrook immediately comes to mind.

No offense, but where the heck is Nate Robinson? Spud Webb? Dee Brown? Three of the greatest dunking PG's of all time, and must-haves for this list!

Derrick Rose has amazing athletic ability. I don't know if he's ever done anything great in a game but in the 2009 Skills challenge he had a great dunk.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

None taken, I couldn't remember all of them to make the list available to you all but, Nate Robinson was #1 and Spud was #2. Dee Brown didn't make the cut apparently.

Dee was the only one that actually dunked alot IN GAMES. It's a rarity to see Nate or Spudd throw down in 5 on 5...  ::)

He was the first to lay down the "No-Look" dunk, and the pumping up of his Reeboks was a classic moment in Slam-Dunk competition history. ;)

Oh yes, I'm aware, I honestly didn't even think of him though until you said something. (shameful, I'm aware.) I'm just as astounded as you are that he didn't make the cut.

That particular contest came down to a dunk-off between him and another of the great dunkers of all time, Shawn Kemp. I wasn't complaining about you, Bud, just the people who came up with the list ... guess it comes down to personal preference, but it's still difficult to imagine any PG dunk list without Dee on it, although they may consider him on the SG list in general, so that could be why. ;)

They may not consider him a "pure" PG, as he played both positions, (PG & SG) ... that's probably why he wasn't included. Great thread, OCF! (TP)
