I am still very interest in Mo Bamba, I wonder what it would take to make a trade for him.

I have no interest in trading for someone that got totally abused by Theis.

True.

Bamba is in the same boat as Rob Williams.

If the Celts are going after a big man, it should be someone like Ibaka or even Tristan Thompson.

Both those guys also have expiring contracts.

We can't match salaries with those type of guys, that is why i suggested Bamba.

Another possible option would be Wendell Carter Jr. but I'd say it would take Jaylen Brown to make that happen.

Ainge doesn't have to do the trade now.

January or February should be the time Ainge makes a move.

Right now a good deal for the Celts would be Jaylen for Sabonis.
Other than that, Celts will have to wait a couple more months.

Either way we won't have the salaries to match lol

Sabonis for me is a sideways move, he isn't a defensive player at all and if we see Tatum as the future, we can't have them playing together in the front court.

I am interested in when can a team trade back a player after making an original trade, i.e Baynes from the Suns. The only reason we traded him was because we needed to dump salary for Walker so perhaps at the end of the season when Phoenix is out of the playoff picture we could bring him back for Theis.

Poirier has shown he can rotate on defense very well.  He knows where to be and gets there.  He is not an elite rim protector and offensively keeps it simple.  I think he will be useful against Philly, Milwaukee and teams with big centers.  Theis and Kanter can manage against the rest of NBA as they are asked to be 5th starter.

I expect our centers to rotate in and out every 4-5 min.  They will be fresh and team will have 20 fouls to throw at teams.  Worked for Bulls in 90s in a league with 6 legendary hall of fame centers.

For this to work, Hayward, Tatum and Kemba need to light it up.

RWilliams and Kanter will take heavy minutes manning the middle. They're quick and strong. Offense is not a problem because they're the 4th and 5th option. Aggressiveness in offensive rebounding is more important and essentially gives them the chance to score. The last 2 games were mostly ran by small-ball game which appears to be a common trend now in the league, best exemplified by GSW. So, I guess our  bigs are just fine for now.

I think there's a chance they could be just fine. There are a few teams that will give them trouble, Philly for example. But against most teams they should be able to hold up. The problem, however, is that they may very well need to get past Philly if they want to get to the finals.

Brown for Sabonis a bad trade for Celtics. Jaylen just starting to take off. Sabonis has peaked.

I don't understand the sabonis chatter. He's not very good defensively which  is what we need. Jaylen is flat out  more valuable.

I think we need more than just a couple of preseason games to work out how BIG the trouble really is. Is it big, BIG or BIG?

I think with Theis in the lineup we have a defensive unit that can cover a majority of the teams we play...the issue will be against playing with teams that have dominant bigs that have solid post games, like Philly and Embiid or LA and AD. Embiid had Theis for breakfast when they played each other the last couple of years, he just doesn't have the bulk. My hope is that Poirier might be the defensive center that we can deploy against someone like Embiid. I also saw Brad go with a two-big lineup with Timelord and Poirier at the 4 and 5...that suggests that maybe we play Timelord at the 4 in certain situations.

But no doubt about it, we will miss Big Al. Unfortunately we can't replace him with another Big Al, or even a Little Al...it has to be an ensemble effort from the team.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

The good news is none of our centers will take many shots so our “big 4” plus smart will be easier to keep happy with how many looks they are getting. Our Cs just need to play D, recounting and rim run.

If the Cs could trade Jaylen Brown for Wendell Carter Jr today they should do it. No brainer

It's better than nothing.

Brown wants max money and the Celts will not give it to him.

Getting Sabonis is better than the Celts end up getting nothing for Brown.
Just like the Celts got nothing in return for Kyrie and the Celts gave up the #8 pick of the 2018 Draft for Kyrie.
