I'm still stuck in a serious consideration of why with our lack of seasoned bench talent, Danny Ainge and the Celtics passed up on a few of these guys:

Troy Murphy
Tonight vs. Chicago - 5 offensive rebounds in 27 minutes (more than the entire starting line-up of our team in 48 minutes).

Delonte West
Tonight's 3 steals and 10 points on what is largely a slow night for him, is far more production than Dooling and the absolutely talentless Bradley.

Now if Semih Erden has a breakout year in Cleveland I'll add him to the list.

Troy Murphy brought nothing to this team. Seriously, I would rather have Mikki Moore than the Troy Murphy we saw with the Celtics last year.

  • Rondo = Good
Delonte -- injury prone, emotionally unstable / immature.  basically, he's unreliable

Murphy -- he didn't show anything in his time here to suggest he could still be a useful player.  Time will tell if he can be a consistent contributor for the Lakers.

Didn't both of their teams lose today? We almost beat the knicks on the road without our best scorer, I think we did fine with the guys we did sign.

I think we should have kept Murphy. Everything was against him in his short stint with the Celtics. I believe his performance tonight is closer to what he can really do. Maybe there were concerns about his durability.

@greensquirrel - Yeah at the point we acquired him last year he had no chance to get into the system.  Additionally, Doc just sat the guy.

I love Delonte but He is injury prone. And, I think Danny and Doc were talking about him and Baby when they mentioned last years bench being immature.

As far as Murphy, He's a terrible defender. If you look up Matador defense in the dictionary, you'll see His picture next to the definition.

Agreed on Delonte. Not Murphy.

Yeah agree on the Delonte part and that only  ;D
Would've liked it if he was resigned instead of trading for Dooling. Dooling/Bradley/Daniels line up just lacked too much offensive power. Sure might be great on defense, but you got to be able score at the other end too. Knicks was able to have a big lead today against that combination. Hopefully, it would be the last time that line up sees daylight. ::)

Dwest would've done much better effort in distributing the ball tonight for the bench and would've been able to afford Rondo some quality rest.

He played decent following a lockout and given his past couple years. Showed a knack for the ball and made a lot of I'm not sure credited rebounds but a lot of tipped ones.

I disliked not re-signing Delonte West. Very little confidence in Dooling, big fan of Delonte.

I thought letting Troy Murphy go was the right call given the C's depth at PF with Garnett, Bass, Wilcox and JaJuan Johnson. There was no value in bringing back T.Murphy with those guys already in place. The team had other more important needs it needed to address with it's final roster spots.
