Wonder what team might want him

I put Rudy Gay up there with Jeff Green. Just existing in the NBA to get a paycheck.

Eh, the injuries to Rudy Gay in the past would scare me. But he's still a solid player that can score 12-15 PPG, or come off the bench as a sixth man candidate. He's going to certainly get some offers.
-
Wonder if Danny Green’s next with his 10M option
-
This is the first domino. This puts the Spurs at 90M heading into next year, assuming Green opts in, with a projected cap of 108. He knows Kawhi is gone. He can still get still get 8.8M on the open market. This opens up the possibility of signing on a super team at a discount. It could also allow SA to absorb salary in a deal. Tons of flexibility for the 3-team, Kawhi to the Lakers deal that's coming.
-
I don't think he wants to be there for another season without Kawhi.
Can't blame him at this point of his career.
-
Its not going to happen but it would be awesome if he came ring chasing for us at the minimum
-
An alternative way to look at it is if the Spurs can move Gasol, they’re entering LeBron territory for cap room. Maybe LeBron and Kawhi team up in San Antonio, with Gay having opted out so he can rejoin them later as a Spur.
Highly unlikely, but not out of the realm of possibility. The Spurs have often been mentioned as a potential LeBron destination.

kawhi isn't staying in SA. Kawhi hates pop and lebron can't be coached

I take Gay on a cheap contract

Trying to imagine Pop and LeBron having a polite difference of opinion on play selection...

Yeah and he gave up I think an 8M option. I doubt he can get that from anyone as a free agent.

This should probably be a separate thread/poll, but I wonder as to how many, if any, people would prefer to have Rudy Gay over Marcus Morris.

At the same salary, hopefully no one.

I'll keep Morris over Gay.

May I ask as to why not?
Don't get me wrong, I've really come to like Morris as a player and am certainly not hoping that he's moved, or anything, but at least Gay's shot selection is noticeably better, although, granted, there's not exactly much of a bar, there, lol ;D.

Another board was speculating that he is indeed ready to ring chase because his market is probably not above $8 mill. I wonder if smart leaves and we replace him with gay
-
Lakers will probably go after him once they sign LeBron James, Paul George, and Kawhi Leonard.
Great, another SF added to their collection!
-
Watch Gay sign with the GSW as part of their annual revolving door of vet ring chasers.

Scalabrine just said on NBA Radio that he expects the Lakers to sign Gay. The 8.8 M that he gave up is basically the MLE which Scal said he should easily get or more.

JJ Hickson says there is nothing wrong with an NBA paycheck and I don't need any competition at home invasions.

If he’s ring-chasing, he should go to Cleveland. Not only would he have a decent shot at a championship but Cavs would also be making a powerful social statement by pairing him with Kevin Love.
