This would make Ainge the exact opposite of smart...

This would be terrible for everyone involved. Celtics, Lakers, Kyrie, and LeBron.

It would make sense to trade Kyrie to the Pelicans for Davis. Or at least almost make sense.

I can't see any sense trading Kyrie to the Lakers.

So Ainge being smart is trading our best player to our most hated rival so we can get 25-50 cents on the dollar value for that player?

I think Red Auerbach would rise from the dead and beat Danny senseless if he did that.

It will never happen.. Besides the Pelicans will not accept Kyrie for the simple reason that Kyrie also bolts out in the summer, so does AD.. We end up with nothing and a tarnished management who simply do not know what they were thinking thinking of trading Kyrie and accepting AD... Well it won't be happening anyways.

I'd be right there with him. This is why DA is the GM

Tough being a GM these days. Different type of players.  I never worried about Pierce leaving or Bird. It's not like that anymore.

If Ainge got any clue Kyrie was leaving,  I would try to trade him though. But I'd prefer to build around him.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

You don't need to worry, Kyrie ain't leaving. NY/LA media are just trying to mess with your head (and others).

It’s funny to think how upset some people were when Ainge traded Bradley for Morris a couple years ago.  Morris is playing so well and Bradley with his injuries and poor play has been on absolute struggle street.  Ah the good old times.

-thankful
