jjWhat a joke ,   Bron is just standing around , and Davis too watching their team get blown out by Bulls.

Bron needs a wheel chair , he has moved so little i thought he might be just an ornament .

I bet Vogel is dying a slow death watching the Lakers standing around waiting for the playoffs .  What a joke

the home crowd is asleep .....there is so little action on part of the Lakers.  they realize the Lakers are totally disinterested in this game
they beat the bulls

oh , i knew they would, so did the crowd ,  even when Bull were up 18 ,  the crowd was dead silent ,  they knew Bron wasn't even trying .
But as usual late third , he starts ramping it up , plays at about 95 % and wins the game going away in the 4 th , been doing this for like good 10 years.  Coasts though 1-3 , then pours on the coal.  He relies on the rest to keep,it to under 20 going into 4th then he ll do the rest.  The fans knew what was going to happen too.
Huh?  Lebron had 2 points in the 4th.  He was the one who kept them in the game the 1st 3 quarters.

Kawhi sitting tonight vs. Bucks for "load management" reasons.

This is ridiculous.  He is playing the next game vs Portland.

Any loss we can pin on the Bucks obviously helps us. This doesn't help.

This approach to a game is very close to the same approach Bill Russell had when playing Wilt Chamberlain. Bill would play him at a pace letting Wilt be Wilt but then turned on the heat in the second half/fourth quarter and beat him in the end.

Something to be said for winning the regular season. There should be a separate and respected trophy for winning the regular season. The regular season is a test of endurance and bigger test than playoffs where you get the luck of the draw and may just get hot for a couple of months.

That is really weak. Load management is supposed to be for resting players against bad teams, not against one of the top teams in the league - it's almost just admitting defeat. It's also a national game on ESPN - I thought that type of thing was looked down upon by the league.

There's plenty of luck in the regular season.  The Bucks just got some with Kawhi setting out.  A tough game turned into a should win game.  Paul George is also not back yet.  He's supposed to be back soon but will he be playing at a top level went they meeting again Dec 6?  On the other hand the Sixers don't play the Clips until February and March.  This could end up being a significant advantage for the Bucks winning the East.
Note - The Celtics 1st game against the Clips is 11/20.

Also regarding the schedule, teams play most in conference teams 4 times but I think 3 teams are only played 3 times.  So a team could get lucky and only have to play the top teams in the conference 3 times.

Apparently it is all within league rules since Kawhi is still considered injured.

I have 2 thoughts:

1) Remember the players being livid at Morey for costing them money?  Why doesn't that same principle apply here?  Sure the TV deals are already set, but it's more of a residual affect.  Great games, lead to great ratings, leads to more interest, leads to bigger TV contracts and merchandise sales and more potential endorsement money, etc., etc.

2) This seems like something out of the Pop book of management, and maybe Kawhi picked it up from his time with the Spurs.  A very possible Finals matchup, don't want to give your opponent too many good looks at you.  Don't  want to give give Giannis and the Bucks a chance to try to figure out Kawhi and Co.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

If the league wants to not have players sitting out national games, they shouldn’t put teams on back-to-back nationally broadcast games.  Tomorrow is vs. the Blazers on TNT.

Yes.

Back then it was just called rest, not load management.

I'm so disgusted how soft the call Embiid is drawing.

the schedule will be changed to ensure a round robin schedule. If there is a trophy and honor surrounding the regular season you will not see that many players staying out injured. In the English Premier League the regular season championship is way more prestigous and celebrated than the playoff championship.

If the Sixers lose, Celtics will hold the #1 spot.
