Was that the game to finally awake the sleeping giant?
Cleveland could be a good measuring stick. They should pummel them but we'll see.  But a lot of good things happened tonight - finally.  Best to me was they really worked at it defensively.
agreed - hopefully the C's will remember how they were manhandled in the preseason and lay a beating on the Cavs

Hopefully Stevens sticks with this rotation for a while (sans occasionally swapping Baynes for Morris against really big front lines).  Smart and Morris just seem to compliment Kyire, Al, and Tatum well.

The extra ball handler playing with Irving helps ball movement.

And with Smart on the floor it's going to help them lock in defensively right from the start.

Smart at the top works for the starting line up. It works with what they have.

Nothing wrong with Brown with second unit...which looks good with Hayward at the top so far.

Meh...The Pels are an atrocious defensive team. I don't think it matters one iota who starts. It matters how much the team as a whole brings the effort and plays great two way ball. Each starting unit Stevens has gone with has had good and bad times. It's the groupings that matter not who starts. So the grouping that looked good tonight might be a grouping Brad wants to try more often. I just don't see they need to start.

We've struggled offensively so much. It makes sense to simplify the game to start by putting another guy out there who can read and react, and make the right play - whether it's for himself or creating for others.

Smart starting is a great idea.  He has such an impact on the game. And he seems (emphasis: seems) to be selecting shots a little better.  I am not a believer that his shot is a weapon -- he gets hot occasionally, but misses are around the corner, sort of the anti-Ray Allen.    But he really impacts energy, he can pass, and he can drive.

Bench with Jaylen, TR, Gordon, Baynes/Theis should be scary.

I’m sure your hesitance to this rotation has nothing to do with your binkie Brown being relegated to the bench with this rotation. 😉😬

Either way, this should only benefit Brown by giving him more focus and touches off the bench. A bench lineup of Rozier, Brown, Hayward, Semi/Theis, abd Hayward should run other benches out of the gym.
