Terry Rozier to PHO for Richaun Holmes (1.6M expiring low end big) and De'Anthony Melton (1 yr remaining, 1.4M next yr). PHO has been mentioned as a possible Dennis Smith Jr. destination. Alongside Booker, they have Okobo and Crawford as the other PGs. Leaves PHO thin behind Ayton, but they're a lock for ping pong balls anyways.

Marcus Morris to MIA for Wayne Ellington. 3 pt specialist. More playing time then available for Brown, Hayward, Tatum. Logjam in MIA  with Ellington currently buried on the bench. Waiters already complained about playing time.

Celtics don't need Richaun Holmes. The team already has Robert Williams. Too similar and not enough of an upgrade. I do not know who Melton is. So for me, not worth trading Rozier for them.

Ellington is grand but he is not as good as Marcus Morris. So no for me on that one too.

Intrigued by Melton and liked Holmes before the draft and he's good insurance.  So maybe on the first one.

Second one is the weirdest most mystifying and terrible idea ever..   :)

You've fallen off, Who. He's started the last 20 games for the Suns.

neither proposition seems worth it, especially the Morris deal.  why unload our most consistent front court scorer for an end-of-bench player?  For Rozier, not against a trade but think we could/should do better than that deal

Because thay scorer is doing so at the expense of guys who need more.

Would you rather tatum getting 4 more shots a game and someone producing less from the pf spot? Or morris getting his and tatum getting the scraps.

I know, for me at least, i want my second year 20 year old star potential player being higher in the pecking order than a journeyman who there is no way to keep past the season.

Yeah. Not enjoying the league as much these days (all the 3s, no post play or midrange) so watching less than I used to.

I dont see alot of similarities between the 2 at all

Holmes is a pf who has range out to and including the 3pt line but can also post up

Those are thinga williams cannot do.

Loosely translated: he's garbage.

Just a general trade suggestion for OP:
The Celtics are (despite what you may think) competing for a title this year. All trades must logically improve the team this year (not shed salary, not give away better players for worse ones).

1) There is no way that you can convince me that Wayne Ellington is better than what Marcus Morris is putting up this year. For example, you cited ELlington as a 3 point specialist. Guess what: Morris is shooting better (44.8% vs 37.4%). Morris is actually one of our 5 best players on the team this year, which is why he is on the starting lineup. Some people (not me) are even saying that he may get a fat contract next season.
2) Terry Rozier, which I agree is not playing particularly well so far this year, is *proven* backup to Kyrie Irving and is putting in about 23 MPG on a stacked team (not the Suns). Should something happen to Kyrie, I have complete confidence that Scary Terry will step up and run the offense. I cannot say the same thing about Melton, and Holmes will not see any minutes other than absolute garbage time. The Suns would jump all over your deal. The GM's secretary that picks up the phone will agree to the deal.

Both of your trades made the team significantly worse.

Hope this helps.

I like Holmes but he is a poor defender.  He's not a playoff caliber player.

Don't like the Morris trade and really don't want to see him traded (certainly not for Wayne Ellington)

In fact, I'd love to see the Celts re-sign Morris this summer.

As for the Rozier deal, I can't really judge either way because I have no clue who Melton is.

I would be ecstatic with Rozier for Melton straight up.  Holmes is a decent big as well.

Not sure if Phoenix does this.

At this point you have to keep Rozier, even if that means sending him to Maine and DNPing him in the playoffs lol.

We won’t get fair value for him given his contract, and we need him as insurance as a RFA in the even this Kyrie thing snowballs and he leaves. I could see him walking if things continue the way they do.
