Was reading this article http://www.oregonlive.com/blazers/index.ssf/2015/02/lamarcus_aldridge_damian_lillard_2015_nba_all-star.html

And started to think that maybe it wouldn't be unrealistic to sign LA as a free agent this offseason. He'd immediately improve his fanbase and get due recognition. Sign LA, Trade Sully and the nets picks for Cousins and then you're going somewhere.

Where in the article did it say he wanted to leave Portland or sign with the Celtics?  The article gave me the impression he likes it in Portland and wanted to break Clydes franchise record of points in an All-Star game next season.
2019 historical draft.  Pick 12

Tim Duncan, Oscar Robertson, Elgin Baylor, Scottie Pippen, Willis Reed, Mitch Richmond, Sam Jones, Dan Majerle, Bob Cousy, Rasheed Wallace, Shawn Kemp, Marcus Camby

There are zero reasons for LA to leave Portland.

There was an article in The Sporting News that discussed the Aldridge might not be as much of a certainty to re-sign in Portland and that even Portland management is a bit worried he could leave. That article could be interpreted that under the right circumstances Aldridge might be enticed to sign somewhere other than Portland but I never got the impression they were talking about Boston.

This article about Aldridge is more of an All-Star game review. Again, nothing there is suggesting anything.

My guess, Aldridge has as much chance of signing in Boston as Boston does of winning the first pick in this year's draft. Almost zero.

There are zero reasons for LA to leave Portland.

Except to maybe to win a championship and not have his career be a fart in the wind?

Because the Celtics have more of a championship-caliber roster than the Blazers?

Of course they do, the Celtics are super awesome.

I think there is a good chance Aldridge and Westbrook both end up as Lakers.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I think Aldridge stays in Portland, but if he were to leave maybe replacing Millsap in Atlanta would make sense.

Does anyone else think bringing (not that it's possible) guys like Gasol or LA will help this team? By the time Smart, Young, KO, and next few years draft picks develop, these guys will be pushing 35.

Why not wait until our guys have developed/ we get other developed players before trying to get anyone who is 30+?
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

I think when left with the conundrum you've presented, you start shopping Smart,Young,KO, and the draft picks.

This + people pls do not make a NEW thread for every crazy trade idea that comes to your mind.
Make ONE thread entitled 'fantasyland' and post everything there.
It's become literally impossible to keep track of the posts in the forums during trade season- it's like what, 10 new posts per day? As for the content, the level of surrealism approaches Marx Brothers levels...

We have Avery Bradley and Phil Pressey.
They have Damian Lillard.

No brainer right?
LA get your ass over here.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
