Brad Stevens: "When we’re desperate and urgent, we’re pretty good. We’ve got to do a better job -- and I’ve got to do a better job — of making sure that we start games that way.”

Brad: "When you’re in the game, you have a job to do on that possession, you do it. Then if you do it really well over and over again, you have a good team. We’re not there yet. … Well-coached teams get there; we’re not a well-coached team right now, that’s pretty obvious."

So the "We lost but i see some progress" step is over
With his tune i expect some change coming

My guess is he no longer give a pass to "getting used to new teammates/new plays"
and begin to demand strick execution, which of course should be followed by "if you don't execute you sit"

As above, obviously he think shooting poorly isn't THE problem , the real problem is they didn't play with urgency

So as a result we may finally see them play like last years team. or otherwise it will be lineup change, maybe Brown or AL

Kyrie: “We’re not as good as we think we are. That’s what it comes down to.”

Kyrie: "Right now I think it would be nice if we had someone that was a 15-year vet, a 14-year vet that could kind of help us race along the regular season and understand it’s a long marathon rather than just a full-on sprint."

Tatum: "It’s just a matter of stopping guys. That’s what we’re known for, so we have to get back to that."

I'm so glad that step is over. We're too talented for that kind of mentality now. Hopefully we start playing some consistently good basketball on both ends

To be clear i'm fine with that step, if Brad think it's needed, like he said we can't skip steps

I just think it was the wrong thing to focus on. We are way too inconsistent to even look at progress

We just cant start games down by 20, and expect to win every time. Ratger than “lets shoot 50 3’s a game, our attitude has to change to, lets get 50 ft’s.
what doesn't kill you makes you stronger

Just what we needed.
Difficult start of the season to determine the pecking order and to humble our team and fanbase.

Tale of two halves...

when is this team going to play 48 minutes of ram it in your throat type of basketball.

embarassing and frankly too much one on one settling for pick and pop three which misses 70% of the time.,,midrange pull up which also misses

everyone is afraid to mix it up inside especially Al.

4th seed here we come...(honestly though we could even end up as low as 6th seed.)

brad should be concerned. there's a lot of things he could have done better to not get us in this position.

It's good that everyone is getting angry, but shooting 3's will even out.

The rules with 3's is simple: if you are open, shoot it. (Except for Smart, who should be REALLY open.

Time for a players only meeting. Some of these guys are playing like they have no worry of mins being reduced. There needs to be some heart to heart discussions.

Horford is looking older and Brown isn't doing anything.

Hayward is looking tentative but he gets a pass for now.

Kyrie is chucking up every shot possible. He doesn't see any bad shots.

Tatum needs to be featured more.

Can some play defense and rebound please.

I agree with Kyrie’s second quote. I think we should have added a vet rather than sign Jabari. I would have given him a take it or leave it two-way offer.  I’d prefer Jamal Crawford or Vince Carter to the empty spot that Bird is.

Horford looks tentative, not old.  He's passive by nature on the offense end.  I think he expected the supporting cast to carry the offense.  What this team needs is for Al to be assertive from the jump, both as a scorer and facilitator.

Jaylen has been a major concern thus far.  What's staggering is how terrible he has been near the rim.  Not sure what the reason is for his poor performance.

I wouldn't be complaining about Kyrie, especially within the context of this team.  His aggression has been great to see throughout the last 6 games.  Last night is the only game that would qualify as an inefficient performance.  He took a few questionable shots late in the game last night, but overall he has been the least of our worries.

As for Tatum, what is your definition of being featured more?  His usage is up from last season and he's relying on mid-range jumpers far too much.  Tatum needs to develop more as a pick-and-roll ball handler before we see a major increase in usage.  If anything I'd like to see him simplify the game and focus on what worked for us during the regular season last year.

Finally, the defense isn't the reason for this teams struggles.  Poor offense makes it very difficult to maintain 48 minutes of great defense.  It's easy for opponents to play free and relaxed when we go through major scoring droughts each night.
